We bought lots of different things. I made a wonderful summer breakfast by splitting a banana, putting raspberries and blue berries on it, as well as some lite vanilla yogurt. I garnished it with fresh pineapple wedges, and sprinkled cashews on top. We ate it on the patio. Do you have a favorite fruit? Do you eat breakfast? Where do you like to eat your breakfast?

prices of fruits really differ here in sweden from time to time. but we don't care. we just love fruits a lot.
anyway, my favorite fruit of all time is rambutan. however, it is too expensive here in sweden so, i try to skip that. i am also very addicted to watermelons. yummy and juicy! i eat them anytime of the day, breakfast, lunch, dinner or sometime in betweens.

After reading about rambutan I can say that I have never seen them in the store here. I know of a store that might get them, but it is in another town.

i absolutely adore fresh produce. i shop at the local farmer's market here in dartmouth, nova scotia, where the cost of produce is greatly reduced. i can spend 20 dollars get enough to last quite a while!
my favorite fruit is hands down the pineapple. love it. i love berries of all types! for breakfast, i often have berries with vanilla yogurt and a handful of granola.
i love your user name, by the way :)

i like pineapples, too. however, they are so difficult to find here in sweden. mostly, i get pineapples in cans, the preserved ones and are really not as delicious as the fresh ones. but whenever i crave for it, i have no choice but to get the pineapples in cans.

I find that pineapple is so healthy, especially when I have a sore throat or feel a cold coming on. I understand that it also is supposed to help with arthritis pain. If I cannot get fresh, I find that frozen is pretty good. Pineapple from a can I will eat, but it seems to not be quite so good.

I like fruits. But for breakfast I don't like to eat all kind of fruits. Specially I use banana, grapes and berries for breakfast. On the top of fruits I like cool whip.

My favorite fruit is Mango and avocado...I like strawberries to.. I love it when I combine this fruits with milk and make it a fruit shake. Eating the ripe mango alone is very nice. I love it. Yes we eat breakfast mostly in front of the tv. Our house is small and the dining and living room are just showing side by side so it doesn't matter where we eat breakfast.

I really like avocado, but I have never had it as a shake. I think of avocado as guacamole, mostly, with tomatoes, lime or lemon, peppers and onions, a little salt. I eat it with chips. I do like mango, around here a lot of people do not know how to peel and eat them. It is a lot of fun for me to go to stores that have different fruits.

Oh gosh Gerty that sounds divine :))) I am not sure I have a favorite fruit as I adore all kinds of fruits and veggies. The one fruit I do not care much for is cantaloupe. i just can do with out it but I do eat it for the vitamin A on occasion, if it is real ripe.

My daughter in law cannot do cantaloupe at all. I will peel some for my son and for the kids from time to time. My grandson likes lots of fruits and veggies, granddaughter too. Better than either of their parents.

I try to eat breakfast as much as possible. Mornings that I have to work (I am a breakfast attendant at a local hotel) I normally eat at work. When I am off, I mostly have a bowl of cereal and a cup of coffee. Lately, I've been eating fresh canteloupe.

I think it would be interesting to be a breakfast attendant at a motel. I would love to see the travelers. That is an extra bonus to be able to eat there as well. It is good to eat the cantaloupe when it is so yummy and in season.

When we get to the end of summer, like about now, I find I buy a lot of frozen fruit to eat, as well as the fall and winter season stuff like apples and pears. I find I can almost always get a pretty good buy on frozen strawberries. It feels like a treat, but it is still good for me.

I am afraid we have seen about the end of the cheaper cantaloupe, and I buy frozen strawberries at this time of year, because they are cheaper. I think you have described a really tasty fruit salad.

I love fresh fruit. I love to eat it just plain. I have never been filled up with just plain fruit and we always had fruit trees, bushes and vines. LOL I have a cobbler recipe that is so easy to make and it is wonderful with fresh fruit

I think I saved a copy of it once. It would be nice to have. I got my fresh blueberries for $1.50 per pound. I think I may try planting some.

Hubby eats a minimum of two bananas daily. If he does not, he gets leg cramps. We originally assumed it was a potassium shortage, but he eats potatoes and other high potassium foods, so it probably is magnesium. I love grapefruit, and will peel them and eat them like oranges. I am like you and enjoy a wide variety of fruits.

Unless I have a bananna on my cereal. I usually eat breakfast in my easy chair but if the weather is not too hot or cold I will have my coffee out on the deck.

We are moving into some really hot weather, so will have to eat indoors for a week or so. My cherries that I grew were good.

As a student I have no enough time in breakfast,I usually rush to school with a piece of bread.
I haven't tried eating fruit for breakfast, maybe it is a great idea.

A piece of bread, or a piece of fruit is better than going to school with nothing at all. I bet you would find it easier to concentrate if you ate something every day. A piece of fruit would be something you could take in hand while you travel to school.

We love fruit. But we haven't been buying too much fresh fruit this summer. We have bought lots of cantaloupe, although I refused to buy them at $3 a piece. I bought them around $2-$2.50 for my Mom, but not me. They have come down considerably and we have bought them for $1 a piece, but they were small. They are mostly $1.78-$2 now. We usually have cantaloupe with our breakfast. I eat mine either at the kitchen table, or here in the Den.

Cantaloupe prices are going back up around here now. The good news is that the peaches and plums are decent now. We have all kinds of winter squash and pumpkins as well. I know, that is not fruit, but they are all high in vitamin A.

My husband works with this guy who has grown them this year. He has given my husband about 5 that were really good. The ones he bought for $1 were really small, but very good, too. It's just that you don't find those bargains all the time. While the season is in, we are trying to eat as many as we can. I will miss them when they are gone, for sure.

I am thinking I did not buy much fruit last year. I do not even remember last year, to tell you the truth. I was kind of stressed most of last summer. This year is better. Maybe that is why I have so much more appreciation this year. Local is of course always more economical. Farmer's Markets are fantastic places to buy fresh.

I would dine on watermelon every morning if I could. When we were little and went on vacation, if we happened to stay at a place with room service, I would scour their menu with hopes of finding a fruit plate. I love fruit! A breakfast of cateloupe, watermelon, and grapefruit would be an awesome start to a day.

I am glad that the fruit prices were really good at your store. The prices here have been pretty high lately so I haven't been buying as much lately.
Have a great day and happy myLotting!!

I think the raspberries needed to be moved before they spoiled in the store, so they were just one dollar a container. They went a lot further than I thought. We also ended up with raspberry muffins, I used a mix that I had made from a recipe from Villeageanne.

Sounds like a terrific berry blend. Right for a month or so it seemed too hot or muggy to eat outside. Weather is settling down again, though, so it will be more alfresco dining for us.
