It's my last day off and I have to keep some things and clean up the mess for my whole 5 days at work. After cleaning the mess I decided to open my "FRIENDSTER" account to check my profile when I saw that a batch mate of mine uploaded our high school class photo. My gosh...I remembered our foolishness when we were young.
A batchmate created a profile in friendster.com for the schools account and that's where I saw all my batchmates, old friends and would you believe some of our teachers created an account as well.I am already 34 years old and this picture was taken last 1990..so you could just imagine how old I am now.
I was just happy to share that the profile they created in friendster.com gave way for us to see all the people we knew back then and we started chatting and communicating with each other again.
There are so many stories that you will learn from old friends way back in high school. So many crazy stories when we were young. And it seems that we have a lot of catching up to do with friends...hoping to have a reunion with old friends.
Do you still remember how was your high school life like when you were young?Until now I can't help but giggle everytime I recall our high school fun and activities esp. in our school that's an exclusive school for girls and we can actually invite from exclusive boys school to attend to our high school activities..For me high school life was the most fun part of my life..How about you..what can you share about your high school life?
Happy mylotting to all..;p

I was a loner and an outsider. I was not like everyone else. I hung around the geeks and freaks, and I was a English, theater and music geek. I kicked butt in the writing department.

We are not against geeks but some of my batchmates made fun of the geeks at school but to tell you honestly the geeks were so cool that they just kept their cool despite that some don't like them. Before we graduated the regular girls, famous, and the geeks came along just great when we graduated and we still keep in touch with each other.;p

I never cared about the popular or trendy people. I was never like anyone else, and I did not attempt to be like anyone else. I could not be like the popular people. I never wanted to fit in. I wanted to be a famous singer, actress and writer, but now a days, I just want to be a famous writer if that is possible. I only sing for fun these days. I usually always entered into, and won, the talent shows. I won for singing "Stay ('Cause I Miss You)" by Lisa Loeb, and a lot of people then said that the song was perfect for me because at the time, I looked a lot like her.

I miss some of my friends, but other than that, that period of my life was the most difficult part so far. I wouldn't go back to it for anything (unless, of course, I could go with what I know NOW...). Honestly, I spent most of my time as a teenager drinking, smoking, and doing whatever I could to escape the painful shyness I had. I ditched school whenever possible to go to the beach and party. I even skipped school to watch General Hospital...LOL Needless to say, academically, I didn't get much out of high school. Socially, I would say I learned a lot.
Maybe if I were into sports, clubs, or other activities, I would have enjoyed school more, but I well never know. College was much easier for me.

I was shy too and somehow managed to make it through high school. 2 of the others who I hung out with were even shyer than I, which was difficult to believe. I hated college but did graduate and get a teaching degree and teach for 30 years. I am still a little shy sometimes, but not like then.

My bestfriend was a lesbian and she taught me how to drink and smoke. :c I guess in some part of our life cycle..we experience how to be bad and break some rules and more rules..but what's important is that after the bad experience we learn from it and "we should learn from it"..I skip classes as well and I am active in joining sports mobility activities bec. joining the basketball or volleyball or track and field team you will have the opportunity to go out the school..And would you believe..if its already time for practice I pretended having an asthma attack all the time so that I will not perspire in playing volleyball.lol.

High school was a period of life I would rather forget. It was a period where I switched schools often. I was the bulls eye for bullies. The fat nerd with glasses.

Too bad people in your country practice that if there's a fat nerdy girl/guy..Here in our country we also have bullies but would you believe they befriend those fat people bec. they can have free food. For me I don't care what size you are...if I want to be friends with you I'd go near you and talk to you.I am like that.I am friends with all types of personalities in school. At least gone are days for high school..Let's be happy now.Have a good day.;p

hi pinks well my high school days were hectic as we
were in the second world war and by the time I was
a senior all of the boys but two had been drafter
]into the armed forces. I remember playing the part
of a maid in our senior high school play, and all
the male parts were played by girls.lol I was one
of the geeks who made mostly A's and was never popular
and then there were the four girls who were the it
girls and then us nerds then the super athletes among
the girls and two boys. I to tell the truth was glad to
graduate as I was still the one never chosen, instead
'of ball games, it was dances. So I went to work as a
nurses aide, and years later met my husband to be in
the hospital where I was working so there was hope for
me after all. lol.

It was okay\. My frist two years ended up being pretty miserable. Come junior year I joined cross country and really became a lot less shy. Junior and Senior year were great, but I still don't miss them. Happy to be out.

Wow...that I didn't experience but almost...We had this basketball league and we invited some other schools exclusive for girls as well and you know how young girls are..we tend to be bully esp.if they are playing in our school. But I never experience a girl fight before.
That's one experience I missed maybe.lol

1990 seems such a short time ago!! I had been teaching for 14 years already....lol I graduated high school in 1972 and my children went to the same high school and hated it there. I liked it well enough but I was very shy but I was active and fit in. There were 5 of us who hung around with each other and we were as different as can be. I am only in contact with one of those 5 to this day. I was talking about high school to someone the other day. I took archery in gym class and we had to wear "gym suits"! They were one piece and consisted of shorts and tops with short sleeves that I think snapped up the front and they were navy blue. 2 years later my sister's had striped tops, so were so much more attractive! I also took swimming for part of the year and had to wear bathing suits that the school provided.......yuck. I wore the green ones, as opposed to the blue or red ones, since I was one of the bigger girls. Sometimes they would have holes in them so we would have to check them out before we took one. The towels they provided were no bigger than a hand towel, so we brought beach towels from home. (2 years later my sister was allowed to wear her OWN bathing suit) I belonged to the French Club, Periclean Society (kind of like a literary club), and the Honor Society of which I was the chaplain my senior year. We had "sock hops" that we sometimes went to..........yes we danced in our socks. But I never did go to any of the proms. The plays that were put on were a lot of fun to go and see but I never did help with any of them. Two of my friends were in the marching band, so we went to the football games and many times did something together afterwards, if one of the girls was allowed to......her parents were very strict. I graduated with about 352 others and I think I was 57 in my class.

I could not consider my high school life to be fun and exciting. In my case, I had three schools that I attended in high school. It was hard for me to adjust to every new school that I went to, specially that I was a very shy person. I finished high school but never had many friends, never enjoyed the activities because I always felt out of place.

I agree with you my friend, high school is the best part of our lives, where lots of memories, good and bad memories were built. My high school is just the same. There I got lots of friends which until now are my friends, best friends. I also have one memorable girl friend in high school. But the painful part there is that we don't have any communications now. I missed her so much.

High School had its moments i suppose. I wasnt very popular, i have been overweight my whole life and so i had very few friends. I wasnt part of any extra curricular activities or anything, but i did have a few close friends which helped to make High School bareable for me. I would have to say my Senior year was the best though. I got a job working at the school which i got paid for but also got credits towards graduating, and i met more of the people by doing this job, and made a few more friends that last year, so it ended on a good note.

At least the last year of high school turned out great for you.And you mentioned being overweight here...Having friends and enjoying life does not depend on how you look it's actually how we treat people..Good for you...you met good people and really "real" friends when you were in high school.
Thanks for the post.;p

Hi pinks, thanks for sharing your precious old picture here. I had gone through it and had a close look. I found everyone in the photo was smiling happily. This showed that how happy all of you were during those old sweet school days. Yeah, it’s really excited and interesting to chat again with friends about those numerous funny and crazy old stories during our younger days.
I consider that high school days were our happier times for those days we had nothing to worry about. We were innocent and energetic. We could enjoy whatever healthy activities we wished. We liked swimming, hiking, cycling, picnic and camping etc during our free time, as long as we could manage to handle our school work properly. We enjoyed the most was eating the various delicious street foods stall by stall from evening till night. It seemed that we could never fully fill our greedy stomach
posting and have a nice day.

Hehe. It's really nice to look at old pictures.lol.You'll see the big difference when you were young with how you look like now.We are actually the notorious class in high school.Sorry to say that we disobeyed or broke some rules. But despite the mischevious behavior we make sure that we provide our class adviser the good grades our teacher wants.
What's fun also is that we also have a college department and it's not exclusive for girls..we have college boys...so you can imagine that we have twinkling eyes if we are not in our building if we are that the quadrangle to do some sport activities..
Thanks for the reply lkbooi.;p have a nice day to you.;p

Now I know that we're of the same age huh. I graduated in an all girls high school the same year as you. It really feels great to reminisce my high school days. Those years are the best years of my life. Our batch was what the teachers says the "notorious batch" since our freshman year. We often left the faucet open in our biology room after cleaning it so we will not have our English class the next day. LOL. We hate that teacher. But on the contrary, though we were called notorious, our batch often excels in academics, and non academic activities in our school. The best part that I can never forget was the time we had a program before our graduation, "FAREWELL TO SENIORS" wherein all the year levels will present a song number dedicated to the graduating class. We were surprised when all the faculty members rendered a song for us (it's the first time that they did it). Oh we really cried, the faculty cried too. They said that they will surely miss our batch. After graduation, some of the faculty members resigned, their reason is, they just waited for our batch to graduate. LOL.
Keep posting. HUGZ!

We are also the notorious class from our batch.High school was really fun..maybe because of the fact that we were all girls and the only time we can have boys at school if we have some extra curricular activities.Exciting part also if we have our suitors waiting outside and we would look outside the building windows to check if our "service and free meal" (you know "libre hatid and free snacks")is waiting downstairs.
The same with our class. We are also considered the notorious class from our batch but we have a motto "have fun but with flying colors for good grades"..Some teachers would say..."Boys behave more than all you girls"..Lesbians are rampant..pretending to be lesbians and the "on-on" (girl-to-girl relationship thingy) trend is there. If you don't have an "on" you are an outcast and "not IN"..yikes..That was the in thing so ...go for it.lol.
Well at least when me and my friends chat about this..we just laughed at our foolishness...;p

High School for me was actually great but it was the time I really didn't practice my magic at all. Too bad because it is a Catholic School, I was afraid that I might be accused of being a demon or something (What else to expect? Harry potter books are somewhat prohibited in the school, and me performing magic might not be a good idea at all.) Also I've learned a lot in High School that I still treasure until today

Hi magojordan.;p
I don't think your school would accused you of being a demon...you have a talent.Only few people can do magic tricks and you are lucky bec. you are one of them who could do magic. But at least you still have a lot of good memories back then.

Hi! :D First of all, I'm really glad that you had wonderful high school years and that the sight of your class picture brings you back lots of memories.;)
Me, I did enjoy my high school life...but not that much because our batch was called the "worst batch". Most (not all) of my batchmates were totally unruly or don't have discipline in their vocabulary. I've been in this school since kinder and I think I brought up with me the values they taught me (it's a Catholic school by the way). Then by high school, all these transferees from different parts of the country stormed the school. I'm a conservative type and have no idea why they were acting that way. They didn't follow school rules and are irresponsible (even with paper, they have to ask for it every subject everday! I told them to buy paper during the break yet they don't. Just simple things, they can't do!) I didn't want to be in the batch because I didn't want to belong to the worst batch, bah!
But anyhoo, I have some friends in the class and more from the higher/lower years. Also, I didn't understand why we had to study all those things in high school. As we all may or may not have asked "what am I going to do with this? Is it important?". I asked my algebra teacher how I could apply algebra in life. I was really serious and she came up with "patience" in solving those questions. She have thought of to improve logic (which I really used in college). I found studying all those things pointless, but I didn't fail any subjects though. I tried my best and got good grades. You could call my high school life gloomy. :P Only when I took part in the campus paper and joined some school activities did I find purpose.
Overall, high school was fun but I think college was better because I still had fun, yet I know what I was studying was really something I could use and my batchmates were 100% better. Sorry for the rants.^_^'

Our batch were actually one of the naughtiest batch..we have a lot of transferees as well and since it's an all girls school..some were influenced by those who came from different school.I was not a perfect student..but I also do get good grades and our batch are actually the active batch of all.We love to join choral fest, sportsfest and some other acitvities.
At least you enjoyed college.
