Many people don't know why they are here on earth, and why they exist. Some people have their own beliefs, their own answers on what they really think their purpose is. I do respect if you have your own belief. Here's what I believe.. yes, I do know my purpose. I believe that God is the creator of every single person / creature in this planet. He created the stars and the universe and every single thing has a purpose of its own. He is pleased with us that's why He created us. I exist for His own pleasure, because He delights in me. I know it's hard to grasp.. but this is what I believe in. What do you think your purpose is? Do share and feel free to express your own belief. Please respect other's opinions as well.

There are different ways to look at it. On one hand we hear people talkin about human beings sent on a mission to earth and that they have been programmed to behave in that manner. On the other hand we also believe in living each and every moment of life and accepting challenges as they come. Every individual has his/her perspective on the meaning of life. Personally,I feel life is a gift and we should enjoy and cherish things that come our way. We should have our own goals and purposes and with each and every accomplishment we realise the purpose of our existence.

Very few people know what is the purpose of their existence. Only the handful people who know exactly can serve something to mankind. As a common man, I don't know what is my purpose on this earth. I am in search of it . And to me, this search can be named as Life.
Life teaches a person itself what is the purpose of his life. Destiny will show the way of achieving one's purpose, to find out his true identity.
We just have to follow the path and should try to do our best whenever we have a scope to do something for others.

Yes, I agree.. we should find our true identity in this world. Unless we know who we are, we will never be able to know what we're meant for.

it's a good question. lots of people has different purpose. all is not the same. if you were created to be menace to society will you say it is there purpose. if you were a street children is it your purpose. if you been rob by a bystander is that there purpose. just because some of us were blessed and we can say to live life and get rich and stay healthy it is our purpose. think of it. i can't think clearly. what is your purpose, my purpose. but if your purpose is to help those kind that is your purpose.

It's a pretty broad question, and is hard to answer. But yes, everyone has their own purpose. It's just sad that other people don't know what their purpose is. It's like you're living but you actually don't because you have no idea why you exist, right? Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for sharing. But don't you think you're made for even more? Come to think of it, you cannot settle on just living for the money or being in a good condition right? I believe you are made for something much bigger!

i really like your view of it. as for me, i think my purpose in life is to try to push those in my life to higher grounds. i try to push people to reach their potential and do good in the world. i think i was meant to do something good with kids, which is why im going into teaching. ever since i was little, i knew that that was what i was going to be doing. i have a feeling i will impact something of greatness i can only hope i am that fortunate.

My purpose is to love God and keep his commandments, To be the best neighbor and friend I can be, to utilize the God given talents I am born with to the best of my ability and understanding. To train up my children in the love and respect of God's laws. To obey man and his government so long as it is not against God's own laws of government. To honor my mother and father and to love my husband and stay faithful to my marriage vows as long as he is content to dwell with me and not be abusive and visa versa. To become the very daughter of God and and heir with Christ God expects me to be. And to be a light and example for all humanity and preach Gods word to all people everywhere. To love and give of myself as able. To care for my body for it is the temple of the holy spirit and God. To be tolerant of others and their God given right of choice to believe in him or not. To love, laugh, and take each day as a gift as it comes to me as a gift from God. To revererance him and his son my Savior and High priest and King of Kings Jesus Christ and to endure to the end and seek first his kingdom.

I think my purpose is to make the world a better place than it was before I arrived in it. To do this, I do activism, write about politics, blog, post, write, attend social justice meeting on a variety of issues. I help other disabled get out of nursing homes.

Yes, I too believe in God and God has created each one of us for a special purpose and I am doing my level best to find that , until then I am doing what God is giving everyday. I think whatever may be the purpose if we do whatever comes our way with wholeheart then we are close to that purpose.

I like what you said, "Life is living His word.." That's so true! We should live according to what His word says, and if we really love Him, we should obey Him. Thanks for this inspiring phrase :)

I believe there is purpose. Sometimes I am not sure of what mine is but I know there is a higher being. I believe that there is a supreme being that created everything who happens to be God.
I have run into some people who question his existence. It is kind of sad when you think about it. I have my moments when I lose my faith, but I keep coming back to wanting to believe again. We are suppose to exist for God's pleasure.

Hi gegegelay........nice question.......My views are a bit different from yours dear. When I was going to enter this world, I was told that my parents and my relatives were expecting a boy and unfortunately I was a baby girl and most unwelcomed by all. But since they could not kill me , they accepted me.......my childhood was not very nice and turned into hell, when I lost my mother at the age of 5......All I can say is that nobody actually wanted me till the age of 13, after that I was a bit important as I could do all kind of household work , like washing, cooking, laundry, shopping...., I don't think it would had matter to anybody if I was there or not........now I am married and have two children and I think my purpose is to look after them till they can look after themselves, later on may be they will also not need me.....so finally, I can say, people like me were made by God without any purpose....he just made some like me and threw them on the earth.......so we will live till he calls us back.......Have a nice day.

Hey! Thanks for sharing your point of view, I truly respect that. But even if you won't believe me, I still do know that your life is planned and everything happens for a reason. You're not just thrown here on earth for nothing, but you're made for something :)

There is only one thing that I know that caused me to exist, God's pleasure. I was not created to go to heaven nor to hell but because God takes delight in me and that's it.
I see that you are somehow attached with the monergistic teachings hehe.

I would recommend to you a book I've read which greatly influenced my beliefs aside from the bible.
Desiring God: The Meditations of a Christian Hedonist by John Piper
You'll love God more once you've read this. And I am thankful because of our brothers lent me his for a while, and helped me changed my views towards the world.

I believe that I'm here because the Creator wants to. I don't know exactly what is my purpose here. It could be my passion for music or film directing, I don't know!
All I know is that I'm here, so I won't waste the opportunity of living my life to the fullest. Experience different things as much as I possibly can. In short, I won't waste this incredible chance to make a difference in this world.

The question is wrong. The qestion should be what can I do to make my life meaningful? There is no purpose in my existence just as there is no purpose for the existence of a rock but I can make a difference in the way I treat my family, friends and the all the people I come in contact with.
