Are there anybody here who are so interested to learn different languages other than their own language and the International language which is English? If YOU ARE THE ONE ... please tell us HOW MANY and WHAT LANGUAGES you are fluent or still studying at this very moment and also... WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO LEARN THAT LANGUAGE?
I myself is trying to learn Japanese language at my present school. I am really hoping to learn it by heart at the end of the course. And the reason I am trying to learn it is for me to be able to communicate with my Japanese friends and we may not know if someday I'll be working in Japan. :)

I'm fluent in English and the Malay Language; but my knowledge of Chinese (except for my mother tougue, Cantonese) is almost nil. I get by on spoken Mandarin, and it's not good enough for business.
I would like to learn to read and write in Chinese; there are so many historical novels in Chinese, and so few translated to English. It's one of my dreams to able to read these Chinese novels.

I would be glad to teach you.
How am I suppose to teach you over the internet?
That would be hard to do.
If you are really interested in it I think there are videos somewhere on the net to try and teach you a little. I think though, I am not sure. I just heard there were I never looked for any.

I only know 2 languages... Korean & English... My daughter is the same way... My girl friend started picking up Korean & now she can hold a decent conversation with my mom & my sister in Korean... Of course she has a thick accent when she tries to speak in Korean... I thought it was very nice of her to wanting to learn Korean... It was actually unexpected when she asked me to teach her...

I know French and Spanish since I'm a European Languages major. I really didn't know why I studied those two but now it is very helpful especially when I watch one of my favorite shows Nada X Aqui a Spanish Magic Show. I also know a little German and Japanese.

I know American sign language. I am not fluent although I wish I could be because it would be easier for me to get a job dealing with disabled people if I could sign. I know a tiny bit of Japanese from visiting there for a conference and a tiny bit of Spanish from hanging out with the kitchen staff at my college. I also wish I could learn more Spanish as a lot of people speak it near where I live.

My vernacular is bisaya, however, I know to speak in Tagalog and English. I also am learning Chinese Fokien because of my friends' influence who obviously are chinese; some were pure ones and other have more chinese blood in their veins. I really want to learn mandarin and nihonggo. I want nihonggo because as an IT student, I want to venture in Japan someday and knowing their language would be an advantage to me.

Hi jhordie, I always wanted to learn French, but never had the opportunity. A number of years ago, I worked with some people who spoke the language, and did pick up a few words, but not enough to carry on a conversation. I have a niece living in Holland who couldn't speak a word of the Dutch when she moved there. I always admired the fact that she stuck it out and learned the language. Blessings.

Sounds cool. I currently speak English and I know Spanish. I'm going to be studying Thai because our family might become missionaries in Thailand someday.

English, for me is a foreign language. I didn't choose to learn it because it's a official subject in my school (and almost every school in my country). If I had a chance to choose I would choose something like Chinese or Japanese, and maybe Spanish. I like to study foreign languages and yes, I'm going to learn Chinese in my university. That will be fun!

In addition to English, I have baby fluency in French and am starting to learn German, with aspirations to become fluent in both languages. Since my family has roots in both countries, and I am big on genealogy (especially my German ancestors, some of whom married French men/women) those are the two most important languages to me to learn as it helps me feel connected to my family history in addition to learning a new language.

I took three years of French in high school because I think the language, culture, and everything is beautiful. I also want to learn other languages as well. I would really like to try Arabic, Farsi, Greek, and Russian. I know I'm a language nerd but it is all so interesting! :-)

Yes I know a little bit of German, I was never very good with it but I know enough to get by in simple conversation. I did five years of it at school between the age of eleven and sixteen.
