So it looks like Brett Favre is coming back to the Green Bay Packers. What does everyone here think of how the situation has played out?
Personally, I think that the Packers handled the situation horribly. Favre gives them by far the best chance to win, so they should have welcomed him back with open arms, especially after all he did for the franchise. While there is no doubt that Favre kind of put the Packers in a bad situation by telling them he was retiring, and then changing his mind, but even so, he did so much for that team and he is the best QB on that team.

I think the whole media coverage is sickening. You can't go 24 hours without a Brett Favre story. It's like that is the only that is so important in the sporting world. Now he may be gone from there and Rodgers will get the ball to see what he's got. I do not like the flip flop game with him on that ordeal. I do not think anyone will seriously believe him when it comes to retiring. In my eyes, he never truly retired.
He'll be gone and then we shall see what happens. If he had intents to play, he sure went about it wrong. I just want this story to come to an end. It matters not who is right and wrong at this point. I don't see him having the same year that he did last season and there's no guarantee he'd lead anyone to a Super Bowl.
Even if he did stay, I do not think that the Packers will be good enough to go all the way and win it all possibly. That's just my take on it and that's about it.
I think it could have handled on both ends a lot better than it did but obviously that's not the case.

I heard the same thing. If he gets traded, then so be it. After all the talk of Minnesota, he may go to Tampa. Good luck there because I know they got a QB in Jeff Garcia, not bad but not great either. Let us hope that it ends so that we can finally be able to relax.

I think he should have stayed retired...or maybe not have retired at all in the first place! It does seem a little silly that he changed his mind...
It should be an interesting season - i wonder if he is hanging on to have a superbowl win? Hard to say...

I could not picture Brett any place but Green Bay Packers. HE IS the Green Bay Packers. It would be hard for me to watch them if he isn't the quarterback. Today on the news, they said he was back and would be competing for the job of QB with Rodgers. I think that Brett is up to the challenge. And I would love to see him back as QB. But, if the management isn't really considering letting him be QB, then why won't they let him out of his contract so another team can sign him? I believe he is the one who can bring a winning year to Green Bay Packers.

I have no doubt that Brett Favre will be a Packer this year, or he will retire. There is no way that they will trade him to any other team, and he won't talk to many teams anyways. Also, it was reported today that Brett Favre has been told not to report to camp unless he recognizes Aaron Rodgers as the starting quarterback. So this means he will either be holding a clipboard on the sidelines, or he won't be a Packer. I think that Brett is being very selfish throughout this whole ordeal, as he has really put the Packers in a tough position, and he got all of the sympathy from the teary-eyed press conference. Now he wants to come back out of his own greed as he wants to play, and he expects the whole Packers organization to drop everything and make room for him. sorry, not going to happen.

I totally agree with you, the Packers have handled this horrible. I agree that they should let him play or trade him to a team he could help win. The Packers are definitely a better team with him than without him. Hopefully the powers that be will do the right thing. Time will tell.
