Is Education Really Important Nowadays?

I agree with you. Most of the people I know who are successful in their business are not college graduate. They are high school drop out. Some of them didn't even finish high school. Many of our neighbors too who are college graduate are jobless. They had a hard time finding jobs. But for me education is still the best. If your parents can afford to send send you to college by all means finish your education. If there's no enough money to finance for education, find a job.

Yes, taking higher education don't give the surity that you will not be unemployed. Many of the top rich person of this world have never taken good education. From my view point education is sufficient till the level where you can develop a business minded person. but if you don't belong from a business background than higher education is necessary to get a job or to start a business.

education is really important in all times. its my opinion. may be nowadays peopel make money by any means. sometimes its not even needed very high education. but it is needed for basic upbringing.

You do not need to go to school to get an education, and the trouble is that many employers want you to learn on the job and then they will get you the courses, but only what is needed for their business. So they will make arrangements with a college for their employees to learn accounting, how to care for the elderly or whatever is required. So in order to be a bit more well rounded and not narrowed into a niche, it is best that you get an education. It is just that you do not need to go to University or College. You can take courses online, go to the library. take correspondence. It is a shame that a good education does not lead to a good job. I never went to university and I would have hated if I had gone and all I could do was flip burgers.

Hi julyteen, Education is very necessary,especially in the world of today. I admit that some people do okay without even a high school education, but they are the exception rather than the rule. Education however, is about more than earning a lot of money, but most people who earn a lot of money are educated. Blessings.

i think this is a triguing discussion going to college or university for further education is a good thing for people who want to improve themselves~~well,this is more than the job-relating thing,through education,we can know more about the life and society so as to get us known more through books,that is theoretically~~ to those who gain experience through work ,they do go into society earlier,but they after lack the process of getting more knowlegde through education at school~~they may sometimes find good jobs too or even better jobs,but that works after all for a small number of people~ education is really important nowadays,and will be important all the way along~~ dont you think so?heheh~~~~

I think education is more important today than ever before, with out it you go no where. Some people hit it lucky going into business or they have an idea that brings them a lot of money when they put it to the people. But women especially need as high as a education they can get now adays, they can't always depend on the one they choose to marry to be there to support them or help in making a living, divorce, injury on job, if the woman has nothing that she can do to help herself, she is alone and without an income to help her out. Yes it is true now adays it is harder than ever to get into a good work place even with some education, my sone is a graphic designer and he has a bachlor degree and it got him no where, so he is back in school and will graduate with a master's degree. So just going to school for a couple years might not get you where you need to go, I say stay in school and get all the education you can get, love and marriage will come in plenty of time, also the higher the education you have I think the better chance you have to marry someone that has the same kind of education.

Yes it is, while you have bring out a good point, some people just have drive and determination that they make work for them. Put it this way, a person who didn't get the opportunity to have an education knows that the chips are stacked against them, so they work twice as hard to make it and survive and thus they excel and go on to bigger things ...whereas sometimes those with enough degrees and diplomas to wall paper a room take their educaiton for granted and just go with the flow of things contented to just "do and be"

julyteen yes I think education is really important, and 'skills can always be used in various jobs, and you can keep on learning after college, read a lot and read up on the kinds of jobs'you want as all education is good even self education.with improved'skills you can make your way in the work force with all the rest of the people.

I am so confused by this problem ,too . In my Country , there are so many person have bachelor degrees, so it is difficult to find a good job for a bachelor ,even a man have master degree can't find good job sometimes. And many guys without high educations , they become the boss of the bachelors and masters and doctors . I am really so confused , am I waste time in college ? All the courses I took in college cann't use in my work . And my work need the most skill is communication . I think a high school student can do it , too. I think the most advantage than a high school is english , but my job don't need english .

Education is an enrichment of yourself. That has value even if it doesn't translate to dollars. Some people can succeed in business without studies, but not very many I should say. I imagine it is like someone expecting to get a job as a pro football player. Yes, some people who can throw around a ball get paid very well. But banking on that as your only option seems foolish. The same with business. Some people with assets and resources can start a business and do well. Some with family connections can get jobs without a lot of education. Most of us are not so fortunate.

I believe that Education is very important to each one of us.. I think it is not because of employment but because of you can be proud of your self that you attain or have a bachelor degree.. Well, I think it is not of what degree you had finished or how exclusive is your school but what is more important is hard work and have a good guts.. I think those people who you were talking about who didn't finished their studies but have a good career I think it is because of their hard work and have a good guts to face all the trials in this world.. They never quite no matter how cruel the world is.. It is up to the person on how he/she wants to pursue in life..

We may find some people ending up successful in life without having an edcation. Here's my stand. Education is not always for jobs. It teaches you to have better knowledge and a better citizen. It is not always for money. Jobs or financial success will only be there when you're still alive but think about what you might bring when you're deceased.

Yes i do agree thAT there are a lot of individuals who became successful in their business even without obtaining further education. In my personal opinion, i think education is still very important specially in this highly competitive world. There are a lot of opportunities out there that requires not only skills but as well the knowledge. What we learned from school is very much an advantage in how we deals with things and how we make our decisions. Lucky for those who succeeded even without education but its not applicable to everyone. If you hold a degree, in a way one can be more confident in finding a work because you become competitive like other people.

It's the person concerned who will determine whether a job awaits him or her, or sleeping at home is all that's waiting. But those who are really determined to have a job, whether educated or not, can always find one for him but may not be able to stay that long specially if the job requires a degree for promotions. And education is an advantage, specially when a higher position is free.

Yah, definitely education is still very important nowadays. We need to learn so we will go on with our life. If we stop learning then we will be stagnant the whole life. We will not improve, progress or change for the better. We will not discover other opportunities that are available for us.

Education is extremely important but it does not have to be university. It depends on what job you want. If you want to go into a profession like medicine then you need university. If you are just after a job there are many other types of education that can help you get a job that are not university. For example trade people such as plumbers, electricians, refrigeration mechanics are all trained by apprenticeship through an employer and a technical education and there is a shortage of people in these areas. A trades person who has completed an apprenticeship can work for themselves as long as they can handle the business side of things. If you go into university and do a general degree with no specialisation it will be good for your mind but will probably not help in getting a job. On the other hand no education will make it hard to employ you. If you can find a business which is prepared to train you on the job and you have the ability to learn the business then you do not need a university education. However, there are tertiary technical schools in Australia which offer practical training in the skills that most businesses are seeking. TAFE institutes, technical and further education, are very useful in acquiring the necessary business skills that will help get a job. They run practical courses in many things including accounting and office administration which are below the level of university but very useful if seeking work.

I am getting ready to send my daughter off to 4 years at a private college at some expense, so I certainly believe that she needs this education to help her get a step up in the world. Life is scary in all aspects, but I want her to be prepared to handle it and become an independent young woman.
