Have you ever stopped to really think who is your best friend and why? We normally have a lot of friends and many best friends as well as best best friends but who is really your best friend? Is it one of these or someone else? Who is the one you would turn to automatically for comfort, for advice, for support and assistance and who you are very certain and bet your life on will not hesitate to extend a helping hand, a comforting shoulder or advice everytime and anytime you need it? If worse comes to worse and you desperately need help of any kind, who can you count on without a doubt to be there for you and so is indeed your best friend?

I have my bestbud since hskul.
He's not really the type who'll always be there for me.
We share common interests and experiences in life that only bonds us together.
When we get together I was often the person who gives him advice bout his relationships. haha.

You know if you have ask this question four years ago I would quick to reel off a couple of names but the sad thing is that I have been in a situation and those names that I would quick to give to you are no way to be found. My boyfriend who I didn't love and use to disrespect because I was working and independent is the one who is standing beside me now. Members of my family would read this and say that but he is the one who put me into this situation but still he is there and they are not. My Aunt is also assisting so I will say that my Aunt and my boyfriend is my best friend.

That's true.Friends whom we had before and who we thought would always be a best friend can later lose that place. It is the test of time which in the end will show who is your best friend/s. And yes, I know what you mean when you say that even if your family says your boyfriend is the reason why you are in a situation you consider him your best friend because he didn't leave you hanging high and dry and remained when you needed support the most. We give great value to pople who can be relied upon to be there even just to hold our hand in our dark or low moments.

I have 2. One I have known for almost 10 years. She has been there for me no matter what. She has moved across the country but we still talk on a weekly basis and if I call her crying at 3 am(which I have) because some thing is just going horribly wrong she wont be mad that i woke her but concerned.
Also, my current boyfriend of 3 years. He has been there for me through thick and thin. We've been through hell and back. he's listened to me cry for hours when lief just seemed hopeless and made me feel beautiful and loved and showed me that he will be there for me no matter what.

Of course we can really have more than one best friend. We do have a lot of friends on whom we can depend on, friends who would always remain friends and can always be relied upon to be there for you. They may be members of your family or friends in school, childhood friends or friends at work or in the community. It would be a sad world indeed if we can't find from among our many friends more than one best friend.

I think everyone of us has at one time or another argued with a best friend and even had misunderstandings and hurt feelings but this does not mean that they are not a best friend. In fact, it is because we are best friends with each other that we don't pretend with one another. We sometimes hurt the ones we love not because we want to hurt them unecessarily but because maybe we want to correct a mistake or a wrong attitude since we care for each other. And of , no one can gainsay that a mother is a wonderful best friend who will always understand a son or daughter and will always wish the best for them.

I met her six years ago in my previous work. We're both married already and have not seen each other for two years but we still remain the best of friends. We've been through a lot of things, the hard times and good times. She's helped me in a lot of things, all aspects, financially, emotionally and spiritually. She's become a big part of my life. Even though, she's in US right now and I am here in the Philippines, we still keep in touch to each other. She told me that they'll be coming to the Philippines this December and I am looking forward on that date.
I miss my bestfriend, really. I miss you so much, Janice!

While i believe that family members or relatives would be very good candidates for best friend, I also know that even those who are not at all related can indeed be best friends. Friends who, through the passing of the years manage to stay in touch and are always there to boost us up when we need support and encouragement and who are always ready to lend a helping hand in our times of need. Indeed, friendship which endures despite all the hardships, misunderstanding and separation would make a good formula for best friendship.

It may sound a bit funny, but I would have to say my oldest daughter. I'm supposed to be here for her, and I am and always have been, But she has helped me through a lot of rough times, and has always been there, no matter what, even if I was the one who needed a shoulder to cry on. We always have a good time when we're together, and it is more like best friends than mother/daughter. Secondly, it would have to be my older sister, we've had our differences, but have always been there for each other.

Maybe it's because blood is thicker than water and so when it counts the most, we really depend on family who would always be there for us. I guess that's the essence of being a best friend, a;ways being there for each other not only in times of joy and happiness but especially in times of sorrow and need,

That is easy
That person whom i could ALWAYS turn to at anytime what ever the problem is and never fail me, and will take the time, give advice and so on would be my daughter..
She would be the one person i can count on.. my daughter for sure, she IS my best friend..
Unfortunately though she moved to Scotland, which is well over 300 miles away.. I do miss her as i lost my daughter and my best friend.. BUT we still communicate via msn and phone.. Anytime i need to talk, only need send her sms and she would come to msn, same as i would for her
We are there for each other, always

I fully understand your being best friends with your daughter as I have the same relationship with my own daughter. In fact, we even have a theme song "You and Me Against the World. My daughter has just become a professional nurse and i guess she will soon leave to work abroad but i know she will always be there for me. That's the difference with friends we had in school or in the community becaue once they leave and go far away, we tend to lose touch with them unlike a family member who is a best friend. No matter how far they are, we don't lose touch with them.

I have one. She became my friend since 6 years ago. We have different habit, different activities, different interest, but we know that we can count on each other. I feel so comfortable to share what my opinion about with her, so does her. We can only talk for more than 2 hours in the phone-we are separated by distance now-and every time I get phone from her I feel very happy.

I have a lot of best friends in high school who have remained my friends over the years but through time we rarely had the opportunity to stay in touch. We see each other very rarely when we have reunions and the like and we are still friends but i don't think we can say we are still best friends. You are lucky to have maintained the closeness.

i usually had many friends in my school or college times but later what use to happen is as we move out for futher studies we use to be in touch for a few months n then just get so invovled that we lose contacts n suddenly disappears
it happened after my school, after my PUC, and also a little after my engineering
and my friends circle reduced this way n now i have only a very few friends
and contact eachother fot so frequently like before when we were studing n having fun together.
so i really cant mention among them as a best friend but all r my very good friends
i know that much about them.
n onemore friend of my alldays i had is my mom who is always there for me whom i can rely upon share all my thoughts, my feeling, everything.
i can tell u that she is my best friend who can advice me best when i need it n can help me out in all my needs.
i really feel that i m accompanied when i m with my mom n i dont have any tensions when i m with her.

It happens to a lot of us that we lose contact with very close friends we had in schoo. this is normal since we go our separate ways and that's why when we consider who is the best friend we have, many don't choose such friends. They were fun to be with but they can't be relied upon to be there always. Yes, our moms have always been there and do really fall in the category of best friend even while we were growing up.They were always there for us even when we spent more time with our other friends.

I consider my mother my best friend. She had been always there for me ready to support and give a helping hand. In spite of numerous errors and defects she still believes in me and this belief is what keeps me aspiring for more. She always forgives my faults and looks at my positive side instead of focusing on my faults. I can tell her anything and she won't eschew me. She loves me no matter what - My best friend-my mom.

Well who else could we possibly choose as our best friend if not the person or persons who indeed will always be there with us in times of joy and sorrow.Mothers and daughters. sisters, husband and wife and if you noticed, it's usually a meber of the family who can be a very best friend. I and my daughter are the best of friends dspite the fact that we both have our own set of friends.
