I grew up using windows and for me it was easy coz everywhere I go (school, work, friend's home, computer shop) they are using windows. Here in our country you will seldom see people using linux or other OS. But given the chance i want to try other OS out there. I already got a copy of Ubuntu but I dont know to use it... If someone can teach me the ins and out of the other OS then there's a great possibility that ill migrate to those OS...

I really do not know which one is better to use. I have only got to try one operating system. I have always used windows for my operating system. I like it really well but would like to try the others sometime to see if they are any better to use. All of my computers come with windows so that is what I have always used.

The answer to this question is always it depends. If you are inexperienced user or a gamer, then Windows is the best choice. If you spend most of the time on Internet, then security is probably of biggest concern, so Linux and Mac OS X are the obvious choices. If you are into multimedia, then Mac is definitely for you. If you like to have full control of your system, then you need a powerful Linux distribution. Also experience plays a huge role. If a person has been with Windows for all his/her life, then getting accustomed to Linux or Mac might be very hard, but its rarely the case vice versa. And for servers - Unix-like systems.
Performance wise, Linux and Mac perform better than Windows, also in terms of stability.
For multiprocessing, I think all operating systems that support it perform well and there is not much of a difference, but I could be wrong. The biggest problem when it comes to multiprocessing is by the applications, which do not take enough advantage of it.

Well I find windows OS the best.It is very user friendly and easy.I have been using this since I have started using computer.Well I have used Linux but I don't think it as user friendly as windows.Even Unix I don't find user friendly as windows.Well windows is very effective if we compare according to performance.Al over I think windows is the best.
