Do You Still Feel God's Presence?

Hello All! This question suddenly pops out my mind while reviewing some news articles on the current challenges the world is facing, obviously all of us are affected. I sighed in desperation how come things are harder even now when it should have been, since we're living in a world of "modern-everything", life could have been better and easier for all mankind. Amidst all these chaos and turmoil in our everyday existence, do you still God's Presence in your life? Well I always do, thanks to His enlightenment! I always believe that God has a purpose behind each problem in life. He uses circumstances to develop our character and transform us into better persons. I always believe that God uses problems to draw us closer to Him. I tell you Friends, my most profound and intimate experiences of worship were those during my darkest days--when I felt broken and abandoned and pain is so greatly difficult to bear. And I do not know if you all have noticed, it is during suffering that we learn to pray our most authentic, heartfelt, honest-to-God prayers. Maybe this is because when we are in great pain, we don't have the energy for superficial prayers. Always remember: regardless of the cause, none of our problems could happen without God's permission..HE is ALWAYS in control of everything and NOT us. Happy posting to All!

mjmlagat, I disagree with you on a couple of points. I don't believe God "allows" anything to happen to us the way you mean it. We are in the mess we are in because we refuse to follow God's teaching. The problems we face we have brought on ourselves. God is standing by more than ready to help us any way He can if and when we come over to His side of the playing field. The kind of prayer you mention is the kind of prayer we should pray every time. We must always be honest with God. God listens a lot more to our thoughts than He does to our words. We must realize God is our Father and we should talk to him just like we would our own Dad. A good working personal communication system with God is all natural. We should be in contact with God every waking moment. Stop putting so much on "prayer" and just start talking to God. If it's nothing more than talking to him in your thoughts, He will hear you and if you are truly honest He will respond. Really tough times are very often the best thing that can happen to people. They are more likely to come to God during these times. If this world beats us down to a point we have no choice but turn to God then we need to thank him for allowing us to go through the hard times on our own. Most adults are not going to get serious about God until this rotten world we have built forces them to do so. We must understand mankind is the dumbest creature God created. We have a high thick wall between us and God and we must knock that wall down where God can get through to us. We are not going to get very far with God until we admit some things about ourselves to God and really mean it. We do not have the power or intelligence to run our own lives. The more we try the more problems we will have.

with the current technologies that are available to make our lives easier, it doesn't mean that problems will be erased because having them has both advantages and disadvantages... and with the term "modern-everything" don't really apply to make problems of daily living disappear.. yes.. I can still feel God's presence even up to this moment because there are problems in life where in no technology can help me to solve it.. it is only by God's grace and love that i am able to stand again, face each problem and survive the pains and trials this world can offer.. Also, with the power of prayer, i can say that nothing is impossible.. Everything in our lives happen for a reason and i know for sure that God will never give us anything that we can't handle.. And i totally agree with you that God uses those problems to draw us closer to Him because He wants our full dependence on Him.. God is good all the time, and there is nothing on earth greater then Him.. not even the hardest difficulty r problem for He is in control of everything.. :)

In our life? Why yes. God is always with us. How do I know this? Because my family is able to eat a decent meal at least 3x a day. Because my husband and I still have work and our daughter is growing up well. We are able to provide her with the simple luxuries in life. We are luckier than a lot of people and God listens to us when we need Him. And yes, you are right, He is in control, nobody can eer predict what can and cannot happen except Him.

I just had a talk about God's presence last Saturday and it helped a lot to be more sensitive with It. The truth is, God is here. Most just don't see it because they thought that God plays a dramatic scene, like the burning bush or a virgin giving birth or a talking donkey, but not all the time. God's presence is so common that people tend to overlook it. Try to take a sense, God is covering the entire atmosphere. He's here, how can I not feel Him?

Why could you not show your respect by using capital letters to write God and Christians. There is only one true God, show acknowledgement of this by using his name, God.

yeah that is right and because he loves me , and i love him he forgives me for all my mistakes, Even if it includes accidently not capitalizing his name. So I am sorry we are not all as perfect as you . And only he know my true heart , so don't try saying I don't respect him and his name , because i forgot to capitalize his name . Where is your Christian heart , you sure could have said it a lot nicer.

Yes, I do. I sometimes feel that the reason God makes us suffer is to provide us with the opportunity to serve others. Look at Hurricane Katrina, tons of people of faith helped out with that. Look at food pantries. Lots of churches run those.

Hello mjmlagat, I feel now and again that events have taken a certain course for their own reason. I also feel occasionally that somebody has laid out a big safety net to stop me being hurt. Lastly, when I go walking or cycling alone through the nearby forests or along the rivers and streams here, I get the feeling that I am not alone. It may be that God's presence is there in those moments or places. Have a nice weekend. Umart

I agree with you on the point that it still is hard, and always will be hard. Human beings are tested day to day, without struggle, there would be nothing to weigh judgment upon. God needs to test our will, our strength, our courage, and our intellect when dealing with difficult circumstances. However, God controlling everything around us, is a bit of a stretch. Did he write that passage or did you? Did he make Atheists or did they through their will, and choice? Did he make person X hurt your friend, or did person X do that them self. Though He may weigh how you handle situations that are a result of person X, or the situations caused by His other children whom He gave free will. He does not control his children, he lets them do what they will, and in the end weigh them for those deeds/misdeeds.

Of course I do. I can never imagine myself without Him. I always feel His presence. A lot of things to say to prove his presence in me but one thing is me being able to endure all trials, impossible trials. that alone can attest that God is with me.

thank goodness I managed to get rid of god in my life. Damn catholic schools that cannot teach values and goodness without mentioning god or Jesus.

The moment I open my eyes when I get up in the morning, I feel God's presence. The company of the significant people in my life reminds me of His greatness. Blessings overflow in our lives. Sometimes we fail to notice. But as cheesy as it may sound, the mere chirping of the birds is a reminder of God's loving presence. The adversities we encounter should not make us doubt this but instead, we should take it as His way of saying " Talk to Me, I'm just here"

I agree to this discussion..It's GOD who take hold and he is the 1 in control in every trials that suddenly appears in life,,.. it happens that we alter our honest-prayer during this kind of moments because we admit to ourselves that we can't live our life without him.. And at this point of our life when we humble down before him GOD stares to us with gladness in his heart..you know whY? Problem isn't a way to bring us down but it's a tool to lead us on and on to GOD..It's GODs purpose so that we'll remain humble...GOD really is awesome..

I know sometimes I wonder where God is especially when I see some sad horrific news story. I try to justify evil actions by thinking exactly what you believe, that there is a purpose for everything. I feel that God sometimes puts us on our backs so that we can look upward. It's at their lowest moments that people seek the comfort of God. Even when I'm down, I always try to look at things from a positive angle and I know that's God way of helping me feel better. Although I don't go to church often, I do pray a few times a day and thank the Good Lord for all my blessings as well as my heartaches, since I know there are so many people in the world that have so much more to deal with. Have a great and blessed day!

Very inspiring thoughts indeed! Yes, I still feel God's presence in the steady beat of my heart, the visions I see with my eyes, the raindrops on my face, the warm hand of my child, the food on my table, need I say more? God bless.

From Bluebonnet88 I truly agree with what you are saying. I have experienced financial difficulties in my life so many times and yet God never abandoned me in the most trying times of my life. When domestic bills started to pile up and work was very scarce I always pray fervently that God will provide according to His Glorious Riches. And true enough one early morning, an old woman came knocking at our door bringing the good news. She contracted us to print thousands of copies of "The Blessed Sacrament " prayer for a fee more than enough to pay all our bills. See How God Works in wondrous ways! The content of the prayer touched me because it talks about how to be dependent on God in good and bad times.I thought that my problems will never have solutions.Let us try to put everything in God's hands and He will never let us down!
