what do you say to your boss if you are late?

i think you should either tell the truth or come up with a more creative excuses. i'm not working yet, still in high school and am always late for class. i always say something that appeals to my teacher or make them pity me and let me off the hook. right now i'm known as the girl with serious gastric. hehe.

I don't like to be late because I don't know what kind of reason should I give to my boss. My boss will never accept reason such as traffic conjestion. You will hear this words "You know there's alot of vahicles nowadays and there's a traffic jam here and there, so why don't you wakeup early in the morning and go to work early so that there no more traffic problem". So... to overcome this, i have to wakeup early and go to work early. Now it was a habbit to me.

It depends your relation with the boss.

Unfortunately, I couldn't use that excuse living in the same building where my workplace is located. I told my boss that I overslept and I made up for the work that I missed. At least, I'd get the reasons straight.

It's easy to face your boss for being late one time, but the boss will definitely not accept any explanation if you are late on consecutive days. Be a honest and diligent employee!
