I have heard many say that women are more possessive, especially when it come to their husband. i am not married yet and have less to comment on it. Might be i expect you to say about this.
I have feeling that men are also possessive when it comes to their wife. they feel that they have their wife (lovable ones) with them and don't lose them.
This is one topic which has been irking my mind and thought why not have a discussion at mylot.
So looking forward to your views and comments please....

I think it is about even. There is about an equal amount of men and women these days who are possessive. It all depends on the person and their personailty and confidence. Some people just seem to be more possessive because they are more insecure even if it is a man or a woman.

I can tell you out of experience that each partner in a relationship thinks that the other is too possesive and yet are doing the same thing and hate to admit it.
It may come naturally but also in a way signifies a bit of unsecurity in the relationship.

I believe the men and women are both equally possesive because men have things that they cannot part with and so do women. Men might have their favorite tools or a picture of their loved ones that keeps them mindful of what they fight for everyday. Women might have that blanket that their grandmother made for them or a keepsake that they love that would break their heart to ever part with it.

I think both are equally possesive. I have heard women call their better halves "my man" and men say the same thing. I could never call my husband my man I call him my hubby or by his name. I don't understand possesive people.

I think you are right. I think it is about equal. i am a single woman and mom. I date and I am very independent and not at all possisive. I mean I want the guy i'm seeing to be faithful but i am not clingy or controlling or jealous. My experience has been with far too many guys that I date is that they don't even want me talking to other guys etc. It is a big turn-off for me becuz i don't cheat and never have. If my guy doesn't trust me and is over-bearing in trying to run my life then i'm not interested. the relationship quickly fizzles out.

I think it depends on what we are taking into consideration. I, as a Man, am very much obsessive about my electronic gadgets and stuff like that. My sister, as a woman, is more obsessive about cell phones, her bad and clothes whereas I really do not care about them.
Coming to relationships and people involved in it, the amount of obsessiveness depends on how much they love each other and trust each other. But the thing is, although men are obsessive, they do not show it on the outside and always have it hidden inside, but there are ways in which one can understand it.

Good day.. It depends maybe the man maybe the woman the real question would be could one tolerate it if your husband or wife is possessive? I don't mind possessiveness as long as it is with in the realm of normality and doesn't quash my basic freedom.

In most of cases man are possesive in the relation before marriage. But after marriage wives gets possesive over their husbands. I think it might be one type of revange of nature. I dont mean that any man are not possesive after marriage, there must be some exceptions. But I think my opinion is true for most of cases. lol

I think men are always more possesive then women. And women also like the men who are really strong in physical stracture, in mind even in the personality. Making any descision men takes the lead and women let them to do that.

As far as I know women are more possessive than men.mostly men are generous and give up anything except their wives, but women never give up anything and possessive about everything.

i think men is more possesive than women in general... i know some women can be possesive as well... but men are more... i don't like possesive people and so i try not to be so possesive of my hubby as well... everybody needs some kind of freedom and we can't control people too tightly... otherwise, they will rebel... take care and have a nice day...

I don't think it is on the gender. But on the personality of the person. Because I know a girl and even a boy who are possessive on their own ways. It is the upbringing that greatly affects them.

I think women are more possessive than men, they don't want anyone looking at their man, or talking to him, no matter who it is. I don't think I'm that way, I know my husband isn't that way about me, we trust each other.
