Drinking cold water on a regular basis is good for you, water at the body temperature is the best as it does not shock the stomach. Both hot and cold water hydrates you, which is the main benefit of drinking water.Cold water sounds more appealing to most people and does help burn a few extra calories after a work out than luke warm water.Cold water is also absorbed into the blood stream easier, which helps hydrate our body.
However some people are drinking hot water as a way of purifying their bodies, very much like going to a sauna. You can use hot water to purify yourself simply by drinking a glass of hot water once or twice a week.
Your body requires more energy to digest ice cold water than it does to digest lukewarm water.Drinking cold water say,ice cold water will speed up your metabolism and help you burn more fat and lose weight.

But it says drinking ice cold water will help burn more fat and lose weight. Isn't it great? we don't need to go to gym to lose weight or even take diet pills to lose a couple of pounds.

I like ice-cold water but i can't tolerate it.i used to drink normal cold water. But now i have started to drink hot water, because i have heared that drinking hot water helps to flash-out all the oily foods and also melts fatty foods,so that you can stay in shape.

I like to stay in shape too. I tried drinking hot water, but couldn't finish a glass of it. It's too hot, it make me sweat. But I'll try to drink hot water on weekend when I'm off from work. For the sake of melting those fatty foods I ate. Thanks for your comment.

I've heard room temperature water is better for you than cold. I do like ice cold water at this time of year when it's so hot out but generally I drink room temperature. I only drink hot water with tea, about once a week.

Hello,Alice! It is everybody's impression that lukewarm water is good for our health. If you drink cold water after your meals the fats in the foods would make mash in the stomach and may cause digestion problem.on the other hand lukewarm water helps digestion.but I can't drink warm water as it give a bed taste.so I always drink cold water.thanx.

Actually I tried drinking lukewarm water during meal time this couple of days, but I can't resist a nice cold water afterwards. I tried to live healthy, eat healthy. But sometimes healthy lifestyles are not really as nice or comfortable to the one we are used to.

Perhaps not drinking cold water optimizes the digestive system.
For most younger people it seems drinking cold water is fine since the body can tolerate a lot of load.
It seems for older people, the body processes are not as robust as these used to be.
For instance, digestion problems may occur from too many reasons: - perhaps one of them could be the slowing down of acidic reactions when the temperature goes down.
Personally I avoid cold drinks; i.e. if I can :)
Cheers :)

I like you, you can even control and avoid cold water. It's really very hard to avoid a nice cold water. Right now we have a very hot weather, I still look forward for having a nice cold drink.

I can drink water from the tap cold but I like all other stuff cold (with ice cubes)as it seems to quench my thirst better.Plus I have heard that cold water make your metabolism work more.So thats a good thing. My husband can drink tea and pop lukewarm which I cant. But Some people can handle stuff lukewarm.

I like drinking water with ice cubes too. Its so refreshing and taste a lot better. I just learn from you that metabolism works more when drinking cold water. Thats very informative. I'm not used to drinking lukewarm water too.

i dont know, but i know very cold water can be shock to your system if you are feeling hot.. many seem to think when it is really hot that cold water will cool them down, but really it will do the opposite and send your temperature up.. tepid is better
when my daughter suffered from fever fits, very high temperature, the worse thing i could do was give cold water, which is what most would panic and use..
Dont know if bad for the health but in cases of very high temperature, then yes it would be bad to use or give cold water
