You only have what you give. It's by spending yourself that you become rich. Give, give, give -- what is the point of having experience, knowledge or talent if I don't give it away? Of having stories if I don't tell them to others? Of having wealth if I don't share it? I don't intend to be cremated with any of it! It is in giving that I connect with others, with the world and with the divine. The above is a quote from Isabel Allende which I found very inspiring, I invite your comments.

Very interesting! A motivational speaker once said," The graveyard is the wealthiest place on this earth". I think what he meant is that men and women with a great wealth of knowledge and wisdom go back to the dust without imparting most of it to others.

yeah,i agree with u compeletely.
in giving we r also receiving.
the more we give, the more we'll get.
we r not wealthy enough if we aren't willing to share what we already have.

You make a great point, but don't give so much of yourself that you die BECAUSE you ae broke. It's just like the saying on an airplane. Put on your own oxyggen mask efore you help someone else, even i that someone else is a small child.
Don't spread yourself so thin that you ccan't afford to feed yourself, or can't afford shelter or clothing. I tell my huband tis on a daily basis!!

Yes, to me giving should be part of life because is wonderful to be able to share with others what we have whether is knowledge, kindness, money. I believe in Karma ,so I really believe that everything that we do in this world comes back to us triple.

I can't agree with you more. I share your philosophy about giving. If everyone keeps all his/her talent, experience and knowledgement to himself/herself and don't share with others, each person will live in his/her own shell and the world will be a poorer place. When you share what you have or gained with others, you bless them with your sharing and the good you show to others will come back to you in other ways. You gain friendships too along the way. So in giving, your life will be impacted in a positive way. I'm sure you will agree with me that you are also better off now because you have over the years learned from the knowledge-sharing and experiences from others.

Thank you so much for your vote. One powerful aspect of giving that I'd like to add is Unconditional Giving, i.e. giving without conditions, and expecting nothing in return. It can be giving of one's money and possessions, talent, time or effort in helping others and touching their lives positively. Often, such unconditional giving can pay dividends in ways that we sometimes cannot imagine. The good that we do in our self-sacrifice may come back to us in other ways, and sometimes in circumstances when we least expect it. What we get in return can outweigh what we give, and our lives can be richly blessed by these experiences. I have been blessed many times this way, and I hope you will too. ~ Victor

How very true! I like this quote!
In giving, we receive. In sharing our knowledge and experience with others, they share with us theirs, and we receive additional info, comments and feedback, thus helping us improve.
Just like sharing jokes during friends' gatherings, others will share theirs, and we get new jokes to pass around.

Yeah your right..Sharing and giving is a good thing to do..Well keepin is good but givin somethin that you can really to others is a good way to connect to other people...Well for me,friendship is more important that anythin or let say family is very important than career..Sometimes,we don't think about it anymore and we become selfish that is definetly not good..I love you words...Give..give..give...being generous to others will give you the feelin of happiness...:-0 God bless and have a nice day...:-0
