Sulpicio's vessels will start sailing again.

One and a half months after the Sulpicio Lines' MV Princess of the Stars sinked in the oceans of Sibuyan Island and claims hundreds of lives, two of the company's vessels are set to sail and resume their operations on Saturday.
MV Princess of the Earth and MV Cotabato Princess will resume their usual trips as the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) renewed their safety certificates following the lifting of the grounding order.
As I can remember, the last time I travel or ride Sulpicio's vessel was in 1994 and I had also a bad experience. If there is an alternative, I will never ride Sulpicio's ships and take a plane or another shipping lines.
Will you still consider safe to travel with these vessels? Will you still travel with Sulpicio Lines' vessels? (NEILDC @ red/88/1487)

I don't understand why the grounding order was lifted... more inquiry should be made as to how safe the Sulpicio ships are... and if the crew and captain are eligible to operate the ships... i appeal to all Filipinos not to patronize Sulpicio lines... the only way we can ground them permanently is when they become bankrupt....

i also heard the director acosta of public attorney's office already filed civil suit against the shipping lines. and if i am not mistaken, they are claiming 15M but sulpicio is not shaken by the complaint.

That was really a bad news. With the lifting of the grounding orders, expect more ship disasters from that shipping line. If ever I would be traveling and Sulpicio Lines is the last option, I would just cancel what I have planned and just stay safe inside my home. I wonder if there's anyone who will trust the safety of these vessels? Justice hasn't been given to the victims of MV Princess and the other mishaps they've encountered and they will lift the orders. What on earth are they thinking? Sulpicio Lines should have been banned.

you are right my best, the government should already banned this shipping lines from sailing again, totally, for life. they have never learned from their experiences.

It is very disheartening. Knowing the fact that they have many unsolved cases of ships being drowned into the middle of the oceans. Their negligence had taken many lives. And left many orphans. How come they will do business again when everything is not yet cleared? They should solved their cases first before offering services again.

i guess nothing more it to be cleared. it is very obvious now that sulpicio has nothing in mind but money, and not the lives of the people.

I believed that if its our time, its really our time no matter where and what we do.I had tried travelling with Sulpicio Lines before and some were safe and some were scary because of the big waves but luckily i am still alive until now though sometimes some circumstances can be avoided. But all in God's hands. He is the only one knows what will happen.

Hi neildc,
[i]I can't remember when was that last time I also had my travel with this company but if there are other alternatives, I bet I will not be choosing them..
It's hard to take the risk when we have alternatives!
I hope that by this time, they will work hard to be very reliable, not just for the sake of operations or businesses but they have to value the life of every people aboard!

Oh not again! If I will about to sail I will never ride sulpicio ever and even this is the only way to be in that place I might even consider a plane or even small boat just to be sure of my safety.
It was just so disappointing that marina lifts the ban from this shipping line. I don't know what's in thier minds but if they will just investigate or researched on how many accidents that this company has it will top the mark.
I don't want to think that the MARINA people gets something from the company and that made them forget about the tragic accidents that sulpicio had.

Hi Neil,
I don't blame for not wanting to travel on the Sulpicio's ships, even though they have a new safty measures, but I feel alot more safe on a ship then a plane for there is a chance survival but on the plane, no chance.

Sigh! This is how our bureaucracy works in the Philippines. Politicians riding on the issue only to fold after under the table deals..Long live Philippines!
