Blocking a process?

I have several processes running on my computer which when I kill, they come back within a few minutes. I have as few processes running as possible, no more than 24 when it is just idling, and I don't even like that. Firstly, wmram.exe. I think it may be some sort of spyware, which ad-aware doesn't pick up. Next, iexplore.exe. It is not a bad process, it just takes up memory and I don't use internet explorer. This won't screw up my computer but blocking it will it? Next is rundll32.exe. Does anyone know of a program I can download that can block processes? Or is it possible just using windows?

Use System Mechanic or you can use the msconfig program too. The msconfig can even stop pulgins from executing too.

Use autoruns file which can be downloaded by simple search(only some 150 kb)from techtree sponsored by microsoft to determine what are the programs running and their location. So you will be able to determine which are required and which are not.
Then use killertask to kill the process.Change the startup processes using msconfig.
May be this should do it simply. If it is a difficult virus then you will need a good antivirus software
