I'm just wondering why if this two words meant the same thing or not... I heard a lot of WEIRD in things unusual to them and UNIQUE was never use... There's something different here... I just like to know your opinion... Thanks!
So, What is the difference between Weird and Unique?
Happy mylot!

The dictionary defines the two words but....I've heard many people describe other people as sometimes weird and sometimes unique. When I hear someone say a person is weird, I view that as a negative statement. When someone describes another person as unique, I view that as a positive statement.
For example, I have a weird ex son-in-law......strange and difficult to be around. I have a unique sister-in-law.....interesting and definitely one of a kind.

Yeah, I have also think about that too... Well, Weird is really noted as a negative word since then...and Unique is for something you think really special... Thanks for the response friend! Happy mylot!

well... for me, there is nothing weird about someone. It's a person point of view. Everybody is unique, some people can accept it as a uniqueness, but some people just see it as something that unusual and different from the mainstream, so they call it weird.
That's my personal opinion of course, I've never search in dictionary for something like this :P

to me.. if you call some one "weird" then that means they dont fit with what you think is normal.. where as if you call some one "unique" i would think that they had special or different talents that are on a more acceptable level or that you dont know enough to make a full decision.. weird could be a hobby where as unique is a person.. but thats just me

Weird
1. involving or suggesting the supernatural; unearthly or uncanny: a weird sound; weird lights.
2. fantastic; bizarre
Unique
1. existing as the only one or as the sole example; single; solitary in type or characteristics: a unique copy of an ancient manuscript.
2. having no like or equal; unparalleled; incomparable: Bach was unique in his handling of counterpoint.

Well as far as I am concerned, something is unique if it is one of a kind or rare. Yet weird can apply to many things! I have met people that are very weird in the way they dress, speak or behave; yet because I have also met other people very similar to this as well, I would not call these people unique...... Weird, unusual, strange..... These descriptive words are similar also and do not imply uniqueness at all. The Pyramids are unique and so is Stonehenge for example. Why?Because there is nothing like either of them anywhere else!
