How many hours a day do you spend in front of the computer?

I myself spend five to six hours a day in front of it, to do my work, to participate here and click on my 3 PTCs at the same time, update my multiply and friendster account, chat with friends through YM and check my email. i don't wear any glasses (at least, not yet) and Paul (my hubby) is starting to be afraid that i my eyesight might deteriorate from too much exposure to the monitor's brightness. anyways, i just want to know how much others are spending it compared to me. i consider myself an addict already (although i have heard of people who spend ALL day and night in front of the pc), and if there is anyone else who's worse than me, then i can brag it to my husband and tell him "well, i wasn't so bad after all, was i?" :D

I spend about 25 hours a week on the computer ususlly although at the moment I am trying to build a website and start a blog so I am spending quite a few hours more online. I find I have become hooked on mylot although I have only been doing it for a few days. I think I might eventually need help fo an addiction! It is so much fun and you are earning money!!!!

I would say that you aren't so bad. I spend about eight hours a day Monday through Friday and most weekends I am not on at all. I wouldn't consider myself an addict, but I am building an online business and that takes work. The more time I spend here the more money I make (here isn't at MyLot since MyLot is a horrible way to earn money). Anyway, I needed glasses long before I spent time on the computer!

oh, maybe you liked reading in the dark and didn't heed you mum's advice to eat a lot of squash (best source of vitamin A that I can stand the taste of) when you were younger, hmmm? hee hee. anyways, good luck on your online business and yes, i agree with you that MyLot is a horrible way to earn money. But it's fun here, though. so what the heck :D

I already wear glasses all the time because of the computer. I use computer to learn programming and play Video Games every day before. I went to see the Eye Doctor to check the eyes once I felt that I have problems with my eyes. The doctor subscribed me a pair of eye glasses to wear every day. Once I felt my eyes have problem, it was too late to get rid of glasses.

I am spending almost 6 to 7 hours on computer, talking with friends, seeking knowledge, visiting different sights to see what is news. Yes I m agree it affects the eyes and one fell little bit headache also.

I have not checked, but I figure that about five to six hours a day, except on Sunday when I spend less. As for the exposure to the monitor's brightness and being bad for your eyes, have you checked the refresh rate of your monitor or have your husband check it for you? Also make sure the light from the window does not get in the way.
I can never spend all day and night in front of the pc. I mean my hips and my waist are wide enough as it is.
I really should check how much time I really do spend, but I am way to lazy to find out and I am always getting up.

Lately? I've been spending wayyyy too much time on the internet, however. If I can muster up enough funds to get back into college this coming week or two I won't spend nearly as much time online. I think right now I spend at least 5+ hours a day on the computer, which.. on my opinion is wayyy wayyy too much!
Actually your eyes get worse when it comes to computers because the screen is constantly refreshing itself, however if you take a minute or two break between I would say about every 10 minutes or so & look away from the computer you should be fine. Possibly even close your eyes for that length of time. I've spent lots of time on the computer in the past and I know I will in the future & yet I still have good vision. Then again, i'm young. Only 20, so.. who knows. Maybe it's contacts for me in my near future..

I spend almost 8 to 9 hours in front of the computer..every day!!surfing, chatting, friendster, multiply, and playing I even experienced before.. when I learned how to play Diablo II ( actually that was my very first time to learn playing this type of games..)_ and I found it very interesting.. and cant help do it but play until all enemies are defeated till stage three of the game.. Imagine.. I almost played 24/7... forget to eat and even forget the time..
I just realized that I started playing by 11am then finished at around 8 am in the next day!!! I find it very challenging for me. and I want to win the game. That why I do it!Till such time.. I knew about the effects of comp in the eyes.. Well... its true.. i am experiencing blurring of the eyes sometimes.. and really.. theres a bad effect in the eyes in spending more time... but presently.. i keep enjoying!

I wouldn't really be able to tell how many hours I spend in front of a computer. I think I spend three to four hours when all is said and done, but usually the time I spend at the computer is supposed to be for enjoyment, not work.

I was wondering if that could happen to your eyes from sitting and looking at the computer screen for hours at a time. I can spend about 5 to 6 hrs a day on here too, real easy. It depends on what I have to do, if I'm not doing anything that day and I'm home all day, I can easily be on here all day..lol. I try to get up and take breaks once in awhile, I'll go do something around the house for a little bit. Tell him there are some that spend way more time on the computer than you do...Have a good day

Hello der kayedanda. Right now I am enjoying my summer vacation, but it seems that I have less time to spend in front of the computer because I have more time to stay with my family. I only surf online in the evening for a few hours. But once I get back to school, I think that I will have more time in front of the computer.

during summer vacation i used to spend more than 10 hours infront of computer...sometimes i even forgot to eat my meal, coz i really merged myself to what i've been doing on the computer...everyday i wud open my friendster account, mail my friends and change my lay out every now and then..i won't end my day without chatting on my YM friends..even sleeping late in the morning talking with anyone..to what i have done...i have received a price for it...my eyes is aching up to d point that i can't sleep with that bad feeling..and worst, i can't do my job well...due to that illnness, i have no choice but to see an optamologist..now, i have four eyes..i have to wear an eye glasses to protect my eyes from radiation...but whew, i spend quite an amount for it...which is out of my budget...and now i don't spend much time in front of computer anymore, just less than 10 hours, i've lessen it to 9 hours...hehehe, just kidding...am afraid that i might collect more diseases or sickness f i'll do so...
have a gud day everyone!

Computer is now becoming like getting addicted to something. For my case I at times spend continuously 18 hours in from of the computer. I think that is bad but i do not feel good when away from the computer. I even think it is affecting my sight as this time I hardly read tiny writings. My wife complains a lot but I find it difficult to stay away from the pc. This is because I am carrying out a research and most of my information is got from the internet. Anyway, You there may be better than me but I understand someone too is worse than me.
