Barack Obama Visits the Troops. They Loved Him. What A Breath Of Fresh Air.

This video is just 7 minutes of pure joy. When is the last time you seen this many smiles on the faces our brave American soldiers? I truly believe that Barack Obama can be a successful "Commander In Chief". The first step is having the support of the troops. I believe he would listen to their needs and respond appropriately. Wouldn't it be great for Barack Obama to get our troops out of Iraq, concentrate on Afghanistan and truly stand on a aircraft carrier and say "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED". This is the change he speaks of. This is the leadership we need. We don't need to spend the next 100 years in Iraq. We don't need to continue spending 10 to 12 billion dollars per week in Iraq. Please watch the video and read the comments underneath. Wipe the tears away from your eyes and get ready for a better tomorrow. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1icHG0x0Am8 Lloyd p.s. Please don't tell me that our brave American Soldiers are being mislead. They are better informed than you or I. They want Barack Obama and we need him as our next President.

Bravo! Have you ever noticed that when a general "in charge" speaks to the press it is always the Bushed version?

He has to tow the line for the President. If not, like in the past, there can be serious repurcusions. If a General disagrees with the President, his only option is to retire, then speak his mind. There have been many that have opted to retire and speak of how bad the Iraq was has been mismanaged. Right wing talk show hosts like Shaun Hannity & Rush Limbaugh would have you believe that the only folks speaking out against Bush's wars of aggression are a bunch of liberals. President Bush prides himself on "listening to the Commanding Generals", and what the "boots on the ground" have to say. But its clear that its all just rhetoric, kool-aide for those who can't bring themselves to face reality. The actual fact is that a whole generation of highly decorated top US Generals from both the US Army and Marines have spoken out against Bush's War Doctrines, inept war planning & execution, micromanagement, and not listening to military experts in the Pentagon. The US Army's former Director of Operations, General Gregory Newbold, came out asking for Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld's resignation. US Army Maj. Gen. John Batiste, former commander of the 1st Infantry Division in Iraq, joined a growing number of US Generals who called for the resignation of Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, or have voiced serious differences with President Bush's US War Plans. The current list of top US Generals opposing President Bush's plans appears sufficient to staff a mini-Pentagon: Army General Eric Shinseki, former Chief of Staff, United States Army Marine Gen. Anthony Zinni, former head of Central Command for U.S. forces in the Middle East Gen. Brent Scowcroft, President Bush Senior's National Security Advisor Gen. Wesley Clark, a former NATO Military Commander Marine Lieut. General Greg Newbold - former Marine Corps. Lieutenant General and Director of Operations for the Joint Chiefs of Staff Army Maj. Gen. Paul Eaton, former Commanding General, Office of Security Transition, IRAQ Maj. Gen. John Batiste, former Commander of 1st Infantry Division in IRAQ General Colon Powell also jumped ship. The war in Iraq has to be the worse military blunder in American history. Thanks for you reply. Lloyd

Sadly he did not want to bring a smile to the faces of the troops in Germany and here is why: After seeing how the media got excluded in Iraq and Afghanistan, they decided it wasn’t worth traveling to Ramstein and Landstuhl to visit the severely wounded troops because they couldn’t bring the campaign and get the photo ops they wanted. Instead, Obama went shopping in Berlin. That’s certainly a revealing set of priorities for a man who wants to lead these troops as Commander in Chief http://www.stripersonline.com/surftalk/showthread.php?t=601319

They were happy to see the first black candidate for president and a celebrity. Of course the men and woman in uniform who did not like him wouldn't go to the love fest for him to show off some basketball moves. His week abroad also showed another side of him that did not please many military members.

Thank you so much for posting this, Lloyd. It won't sway those who are so full of hatred for whatever reason but it sure touched my heart! What a breath of fresh air, indeed, to have the chance to have a President who actually CARES about the people of this great nation and the Constitution, which Bush said was "just a GD piece of paper". I'm so glad the troops see the truth! Annie

Hi annie. I'm happy you enjoyed the post. It was an emotional video and indeed a breath of fresh air. The troops were put in a very difficult position. Even John McCain agrees that the war has been mismanaged. I'm sure they are looking for a change in leadership. It's just not fair that George Bush, with John McCain's support, has put our troops in a position where they are serving up to 5 tours of duty for a war that should have never been started. I believe Barack Obama actually cares about the troops and the people of this great nation. It's time for a change. Lloyd

I agree with you 100%. The America I see today is broken and needs to be fixed for the good of people all over the world. America is the world's only superpower and with that title comes great responsibily. Over the last 8 years we have been very irresponsible and it's time for a change. Obama is the MAN to acheive these goals. Lloyd
