Do you dress your dogs?

I am one that believes that putting clothes on dogs is cruel punishment. I do think that a sweater is okay, if indeed it is cold outside. You should never own more then one piece of clothing for a dog. This is mean and it causes the animals to look uncomfortable. This also makes dogs depressed, yes they have feelings too.

pixie, we have 4 boys and yes, yes, yes they all get dresses and they love it. I have bandanas for them in different colors with puppy paws on them and they have sweaters and coats, leather coats and boots etc. none of them look like girls. They are excited to be dressed and jump up and down when I get them clean clothes out. Even my husband get out their clothes cause he knows they like them and at times like in the cold they are needed.
Maybe if you got some male type clothes for your boy your husband be be accepting of clothes for him.

I think its true. I don't dress my dogs up because I see depression on other dog when they are dressed up. they may look good but they feel bad for it.

Yes, I dress my babies...they all have on scarfs and at certain times wear coats and sweaters or boots or shoes. They have on bandanas now. And at Halloween they wear a costume. They look so cute and they love to get dressed. They dance around and can't wait to get their clothes on. They are so cute and adorable. I have bandanas for all holidays, stars and stripes for fouth of July, Christmas scenes, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Easter, some different colors with puppy paws, etc.

I think it's marginally ridiculous, but to each his own. I can understand putting a sweater or coat on a dog if it's cold outside and your dog is more suited for a warmer climate. I can understand putting booties on a dog if they hate to get their feet wet or you're going to be doing a lot of walking in the snow. I can understand life jackets, seat belts, vests for hikes, but I really don't understand people who have outfits for every occasion for their dog.

Hi kassdaw. I have been around dogs my whole life and I have never heard of such a thing so I called a friend of mine who happens to be a vet and asked him. He said, as long as you are using the proper attire on them and it fits them well, you are not hurting them and it does not make them depressed. I have clothes for my pugs and though they don't wear them every day, if we are going out somewhere I will dress them and come to think about it, they have gone to their vet with their clothes on and not once has my vet said anything about it. As a matter of fact, the nurses usually fawn over them because they look so cute in their "doggy attire".

I have a sweater or two for my little dog but he doesnt usually wear them. He does not like to put on clothes although he is patient. I will put something on him if it is really cold outside or if I want him to lok festive for a holiday or something. We all get dressed up for the holdiays around here.

hey i find this funny when i see dogs dressed up lol.. though i dont see this much often .. but i have seen celebrities doing it but they mostly put like diamonds on there dog and have a special designer dog carrier thing .. i find it quite funny as its an animal not a person like it cares if it has diamonds on it or not lol.. it looks wierd also if you did it on a baby like clothes (obviously) but others like expensive jewellery and stuff thats ok but on a animal?! waaat .. why not just save the money and spend it on something more usefull!!!
