hello.
the only reason that I will reformat my hard drive, if its totally messed up and that I already have done everything possible way to keep me from reformatting it, and besides that, I don't find it necessary to reformat your hdd every now and then. reinstalling your softwares, drivers, windows update, these process take some time. well, that's just what i have in mind. peace :)

I usually do once or twice per month but I'm busy with college now so don't have time for that.
Try doing yourself and you'll know that it not only takes time but also patience.I usually miss out on some drivers every time and then need to through 100 cds to get them.

I only formatted mine when I bought it and that was almost for years ago. I do maintain enough free space by burning not so often used file to DVD. I've learn here that here that doing it once a year is more advantageous to ensure optimized performance, unfortunately with the number of applications I have installed in my HD it would so time consuming for me.
