How do you feel about eating chocolate for breakfast?

Ok, I'm in need of a light-hearted discussion! This question is on my mind because for the last week I have been eating copious amounts of chocolate for breakfast, lol! I came across a cereal in Sainsbury's called Triple Chocolate Crisp Cereal, and for a couple of weeks I just stared longingly at it on the shelves thinking that no, I couldn't do it. I usually ate healthy muesli each morning and I was happy with my cereal! But last week my resolve weakened. I gave into temptation and thought that I'd just try it once... And then a week later all the cereal was gone, and yesterday I bought some more!! I really can't believe that such a decadent breakfast cereal exists. It has clusters of oats, rice and wheat, some almonds - and loads and loads of dark chocolate, milk chocolate and white chocolate twirls. It somehow doesn't seem right eating all this chocolate so early in the day, and part of me can't quite believe that anyone is actually allowed to put so much chocolate into cereal, lol! But I love it . Some people who I've told about this say that they won't buy it, as they don't believe in eating chocolate for breakfast. How about you? Do you ever eat chocolate for breakfast? If not then why not? And what's the earliest time that you think it's ok to eat chocolate??

Ah, that cereal isn't for you then, too much cereal in it . Best just stick to the chocolate! I like the sound of your breakfast.

Too funny... I don't buy sugary cereals..I usually stick to Grape Nuts or plain shredded wheat. I did however make some healthy oatmeal raisin chocolate chip cookies last night which I added applesauce to (in place of the shortening)...and I did eat a couple this morning so I guess I do enjoy an occasional chocolate treat in the morning..well at least we've got all day to burn it off. :-)

Well, they sound like very healthy cookies, even if they do have chocolate chips in. I'm sure they're nice though, and they sound like very good and appropriate breakfast food!

Now that sounds really good with chocolate mixed in with it. I would eat it just about every morning if I could. This could also kick the habit of wanting to eat chocolate. At least with it mixed in a cereal your not pigging out. But you might have to keep extra boxed around when that chocolate crave hits.

Yes, I never thought of it as a way to stop me pigging out of other chocolate. I suppose I haven't been eating as much of it during the day or having as much hot chocolate as I normally do. I try to persuade myself that this is 'healthy ' as it has cereal mixed in, but to be honest, there's so much chocolate in it that I'm not so sure one thing compensates for the other, lol! Never mind, I'll try not to eat too much other unhealthy stuff. Thanks for your answer!

I see nothing wrong with eating chocolate for breakfast. That's why God invented Cocokrispies, Cocoa Puffs, chocolate dougnuts, ........... whatever.

I eat chocolate all hours of the day, i have such a sweet tooth its unreal. My husband when in the freezer today, and he actually expected his ben and jerry's to be in there after three days, so he looks at me and is like "you couldnt help yourself could you?" nope... I cant. Im to the point I need to look up something like AA for chocolate addicts.

Lol! I can relate to all that you're saying! I can eat chocolate at any time, and I also go through ice cream phases (yes, not all the time for that, I have to be in the right mood!), and when this happens any ice cream in the house is just going to go! Particularly if there's Ben and Jerry's, and especially if it's some kind of chocolate flavour . My husband is always shocked at my ice cream eating ability, he can only eat a certain amount of ice cream and because of that, and also because I'm quite small, he doesn't expect me to be able to put quite so much away!

I don't think there is anything wrong with it. Chocolate has caffine, so it'll give you a little boost in the morning :-)
