Surprise Franchise

We all know there's a team that is going to well when nobody suspects it to happen. The same can be said the other way around. Well, to make it simple, how about we limit to 1 AFC and 1 NFC team. Why do it this way? Well, the purpose of this is to have a little fun with it and also to see if you can get it right. If you can, congrats, if not that's ok. Just merely for speculation and guessing purposes. We're not going to look at teams that are expected to do well but fail, instead we're going to go in a positive direction. My pick for the AFC as a dark candidate for some odd reason the Chiefs. I just have some strange that this team may do well. You think the Broncos would be it but I do think they will be all right this year and expectations aren't very low with that team. Personally, they need to find someone to fill in the shoes that Elway left when he retired after his last Super Bowl victory against the Falcons. The NFC however is going to be a bit of a challenge to pick somebody. I don't see the Saints really talked about but I do think they can do well this year. The expectations are probably not there and if they are, I guess I must have missed them somewhere. Though the NFC South is easy to win, after the failure last season, I expect them to do well and maybe take the division. Name your picks right now as far as who will be better than you would think this coming season.

i think the browns my sneak up and suprise some people. they have alot of talent, although i dont know if they have the personel to get to the superbowl this year... their defense is just average at best. maybe with an improved defense i could see them getting to the super bowl. and my 2nd team will really suprise you. the tennessee titans. yes... i said the titans. the titans defense is so good, alot of people dont realize just how good the titans defense really is because they dont get alot of media coverage nationwide. the titans running backs are also most excellent. and if vince young had some wide recievers to throw to he'd be a great qb. the titans only weakness is at wide reciever. if they can get a hold of some wide recievers... they'd be a great team. you may want to keep your eye on them in the future

I always thought the Titand had some good talent. Part of the reason is because I don't think the media really likes them too much. Same can be said for Cleveland teams but that's another story. I will look at them and it is possible about the Browns. I wouldn't be too surprised if the Titans have a good year. It's going to be tough to challenge the Colts right now if Peyton has another strong season. I hope the Browns do really well this year. I really do. I'm tired of seeing them having losing seasons. I don't know about a Super Bowl this year but that would be nice.

I can only hope for the Steelers to have a good season. With Ben looking real good for our first pre-season game & dante culpepper as our "back up" i'm pretty hopeful. I'm a diehard steelers fan, so the rest I just kind of follow for my fantasy football league - not sure who I'm predicting & trying to get yet since I still have to do my research :)

I hear you on that. Funny thing is I never really pay close attention to the pre-season because it doesn't mean much. I think the Steelers will have competition this year with the Browns. Should make for an interesting season to say the least.

Haha! As a Chiefs fan it makes me incredibly happy that you pick them as your dark horse candidate! They are mine as well... They are going to have to put a lot of things together to make it happen, but the defense is solid... and if a couple of receivers can step up, I think it's possible. Also, having Larry Johnson back helps quite a bit. As for the NFC, I'm going to have to say the Washington Redskins... not sure why, but I like their quarterback.. Campbell. I think he has the ability to lead that team a long way! I'm very very excited for this NFL season! Can't wait to get it underway!

I'm looking forward to it as well. At least this way, I can hear about other teams for once. I'll be keeping track. I do think the Redskins can do well but it won't be easy. Right now, the stiffest competition for that franchise has always been Dallas. Either way, this season is going to be interesting to say the least.
