martahandey I'm not sure what statistics you are looking at, but generally poor people vote democrat. Republicans want to cut taxes, especially on the rich. Because when the rich business owners have money, they can expand their businesses and create jobs for lower income...

martahandey depending upon which country you live in, a portion of regular taxes the government takes goes to federal support of the homeless. I don't think we should be handing checks out to homeless people, because what do you think most of them will use it on? Drugs...

martahandey It's motivation to get out there and work to lose that weight. It's when people get used to it, or get comfortable being very overweight... If we would all just exercise a little it would do a whole lot of good!

martahandey Obama was a member of the Church of Christ, which are very very fundamentalist for the most part. Assemblies of God are very welcoming to new people... it's the fastest growing Protestant denomination in the world. They also have great children's programs!

martahandey A good amount of the people on streets don't want to be off the streets. It's strange, but they have become accustomed to begging, and going to shelters for breakfast... and they do use the money they get from people to satisfy their need for drugs or alcohol....

martahandey Well, muscle weighs more than fat... so if you are burning calories and putting on muscle, then it makes sense that you would not be losing any weight... but your clothes fit differently. It seems like you are doing the right thing though, keep up the exercise...
