The housing market is not doing so great, to say the least... Do you think it's the right time to invest in property? How long do you think it will be before the economy gets better?

The prices are not at the lowest level yet. Also if you don't have the cash laying around to pay in full, mortgages are also still quite high. If you have the cash, I'd say go for it. If you are looking into owning a house to live in, I'd say, go for it. But if you are looking for pure investment and just renting out the property. I would think it over but it's still quite good. However, if you are looking into a flip or something I would stay away. The gains we have seen in the past will not likely be repeated that quickly. If you invest in property you will have to be in it for the long run right now. As to the economy. We may see better news in a year. As to the housing market, that one right now is working differently and will take longer to recover. Real estate investment is always a smart move, especially now, if you can do it for the long run. There won't be short gains for quite some time.

Well, don't they always say that the time to buy something is when prices are down? The only thing is knowing what to look for when buying and make sure your investment is worth it. Many places are still not wanting to deal when it comes to Value, but if you have the time, and know how to invest, and ready for all the things that come with it, go for it. It could end up hopefully becoming one of the best Investments and deals you could make.

I think that is anybodies guess. I think you are going to get a really good deal if you have money to invest. I'm going to try to get a REO which is aproperty the bank has taken over myself. i dont know if I will be able to sell my house though that may be a big problem. There are several homes on the market in this area already. The election might change things in this country we will see.

Here in Sacramento I think it will turn around in the next 3 to 5 years, assuming terrible things don't happen with the economy. It's probably a great time to invest in real estate as long as you can afford to hang on to it for a while.
