I started clipping coupons in January. After a while I learned how to pick up things free and started getting more than my family needed. I started giving away items to my siblings and their families. I also started setting aside some things for the local family violence center. This week I took in a huge bag of items. The bag contained toothbrushes, toothpaste, pain reliever, feminine hygiene products, shampoo and soap.
It felt great to take those items to the shelter. Do you do this or know of other ways to make a difference through your everyday life like this?

I do this all of the time. Anytime that I can get items for free or for a profit - I buy them, if I use them or not. I never pay for toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner or razors. I supply my 4 older kids (3 that are out of the house) with all of their health and beauty items and I also send alot of my surplus to my mom, sister and aunt. I always have enough to give to the church when they are collecting for shelters. I have even taken a goodie basket and given it to a coworker that I knew was going through a rough time. It is great to know that you can help people by simply shopping smart.

That is a really good idea. I live right across the street from a homeless cenre. They don't stay there oernight, ut they can go in there o use the computers, find work, get a meal, etc. Since the cenre is right across the street from my house, it's quite easy to uy food and just walk oer there with it. It's nice to be able to do that for the people in my community.
