How much time do you devote to yourself?

So much of each of our days is devoted to family members and outside interests. We cart the kids to activities. We cook meals for our families and keep a clean house.
But, really now, how much time do we devote to ourselves? I rarely take the time to give myself a pedicure or even just to put a coat of polish or lotion on my feet. I haven't given myself a facial in years. I have a difficult time justifying spending time on simple luxuries.
I thought about something a friend said to me the other evening and I stopped the chore I was doing. I marched into the bathroom and indulged in a long warm shower. After that I pulled out the pedicure kit and painted my nails. I feel ten years younger and even if nobody else sees my toenails, I know that they look sexy and that makes me feel sexy. Heck, who knows what I will do tomorrow.....I feel great!

Goody...I am proud of you. You need to spend some time on just you. (But, you know I would have given you a full pedi or just painted your toes anytime you wanted, lol.) I know now that I've been trying to keep my toes and nails done over the summer it makes me feel better to. It just brightens up your outlook I think. Now it's time for that other chore (you know the one I'm talking about). We got hair cuts today, mine isn't so great. I have to take the scissors and fix it. I really am glad that you took some time, just for you. You should be proud of yourself. You scare me when you talk about what's next????
