In my opinion, there are many ways to learn a foreign language.First you have to learn something basic of the foreign language. After that you can watch some movies, listen to some music of the foreign language. You can also make friends with some foreigners.Joining some foreign forums may also be helpful.

well it totally depends on which language you want to learn. there are very attractive offers on the net which provide you with different courses. these courses are very good since the timings are flexible i.e. according to your suitability and many are free also.

Your question is very broad. Anyway there are many factors that you need to consider. First is the availability of your time. If you have enough time, you can learn more from training centers who focuses on that language. They may have proper gadgets and resources to help you. I say time because you need to travel from your place to their place and have to be patient because you will not be alone too. Second is the availability of resources, if you don't know anybody who can help you a self-study, its always better to go to a training center again who can guide every detail you need in learning. If ever you have available resources like you have a computer at home and you have somebody to guide you, a course online can save time and energy. Third is, which skill do you want to learn more: speaking, writing, listening or reading. I know in a way or the other they will all come to together but there are cases that only listening and speaking are improved.
Well, I hope you were enlightened by my opinion. If you want to learn languages online...for free and talk to a native speaker too ,,, try this website ... http://www.livemocha.com.... This website teaches the four skills. There are tutors online who wuld guide you too. Take care

Well, I learned english by watching movies and reading the captions... Buying a diccionary could help too, also listening to music and I would recommend you to practice by talking... a lot! My aunt is on a college's exchange program and they send her girls from USA that come to learn spanish and I take advantage of that: they speak to me in spanish so they can practice their gramatics and I speak in english so I can practice too... it really works.
So... good luck on your french!

I think the best way to learn a foreign language is to watch the Foreign Language movies that have the English Subtitle. This way you can learn more from movies.

I have found that good quality, relatively inexpensive computer software programs help a lot, as well as chatting online in the language that I am learning. I also study certain books that teach it. I would attend a class in the language but right now I am unable to afford the tuition and textbook costs.

Hi I feel the best way to learn a foreign language is in a classroom as there are always people to assist you and to practise with,I know when I was at scholl I was quite good at french and I enjoyed learning to speak french. Now I am older I can only think of a spattering of french which is a shame, and I wished that I had kept it up

the difference between a learner and a native speaker is the amount of input.you can be like a native speaker if you get lots of input, too.the brain produces sentences based on the sentences it has seen or heard. so the way to improve is to feed your brain with a lot of input - correct and understandable aentences that written or spoken.

I believe that the best way to learn a new language is to socialize with people who are native speakers of the language itself. In fact, if you socialize with native speakers of the language, you automatically and involuntarily learn many language vocab, and get their accent without noticing. Moreover, it won't be a huge burden on your part since you won't feel as if you are a student and there are duties you have to fulfill.

the best way to really pick up on everything is to converse with native speakers of the language. There are places on the net where you can text chat and voice chat with foreign speakers. Another option is to befriend a native speaker or travel to their country.

This would all depend on what type of learner you are... Are you a hands on person or are you a book person. If you are a hands on person go to class or get on the internet. If you are a book person go to the library and check out some books or cds.
I personally am trying to learn Spanish, french and Italian.
