If it was in a wallet, it should have some ID in it to tell me who the wallets owner is, so I would call that person. Otherwise, I would have to turn it over to the police and see if someone claims it. You wouldn't want to keep it, what if it came from a bank robbery or something. Yikes!

usually i won't spend that money immediately, if the amount is big i will inform the authorities and wait for any citizen will claim. it is very painful if you are the one lost some amount specially if that amount is intended for a specific purpose.

if i found only money then i will keep it, if i try to find the owner, we know that i will found them a lot then one ... but if there are wallet and money in it, i will try to contact the owner of the wallet and give them back, if he then decides to give me some money i will accept it if not, damn with him ;)

Hi there apples99
If I saw a wallet in the street I wouldn't check how much money was in there I would maybe check for id in case I knew them if I didn't then I would definately take it a police station. If it was $2,000 on it's own laying in the street and there was no one around I would keep it!

If I had found more money, I would have kept like 20000$ or like. As for 2000$, I will return it to the nearest police station.
