How is your patience when comes to open packages of anything? I lived in USA for a long time to know that they have the hardest and most complicated way to open something. Sometimes you are in the middle of cooking and you are trying to open a simple cheese bag, and OMG is a torture, so in the end I will just grab a knife or scissors and rip it up! I understand is for the safety of whatever but to me is not practical. Sometimes I have to call my husband and say please please almost screaming open this for me! LOL. How is your experience with hard to open packages?

we always have a pair of kitchen scissors. whenever i need to open a bag of something, i prefer to use the scissors instead of knives or just tearing them up. usually, if i don't open with the help of scissors, it's gonna be a mess. if the package is really difficult for me to open, just like you, i call for help and i ask my boyfriend for assistance.

Seems we are lucky to have this great patient men around us! I just agree sometimes is impossible to open it. Did you ever try to open a new electronic device, for example a new microphone for your pc that you just bought? hahahaha, that is impossible!

I just hate the way any package is sealed. They are impossible to open. Those with the zip lock to reseal can be the worst to open the first time. And those press and seal are just as bad. I always keep a pair of scissors to open them and put them in the zip lock bags. My hands are very bad any way and Sometimes I just want to scream when I can't open things. Then i get some bottles of things open and my kids will forget and close them up tight so i can't open them again. I don't even try a new jar of any thing I just get the kids to open it for me. And any chip bag just get the scissors to start with. I bought me a pair of kitchen scissors and i can't even open them to use them. I just get so tired of struggling with such simple thing It make me want to cry.

No I haven't had that happen. I always use scissors to open every thing in bags. I hate trying to open anything with those plastic bubbles on them too.

LOL, I totally see the scenario and I understand. Have you ever had a case of opening a package of snacks and it ripped off and an fell on the floor? Oh God, I hope they start to make easy on us.

I usually just use a pair of scissors, or an opener. That or I call my fiance to open when I'm fed up. Sometimes I get annoyed like why on earth does this thing have to be like this. But i guess its for our safety in case some psycho decides to poison us they can't. I guess everything comes with its down falls. I'd rather put up with the packages then be poisoned. lol.

LOL, that is a great viewpoint there that I did not think about. But think if someone really want to poison us they will succeed, they would go work in the industry that is selling that product or they would just inject something through the plastic bag or bottle don't you think?

It really annoys me too. It is almost impossible to open anything without scissors or a knife and I have actually hurt myself trying to open them before! There is really no reason for it - there has to be another way for them to package stuff! It's such a waste and so frustrating!

Yes I think they do that so you waste the product or buy scissors, must to be something behind it! I hope they create easy to open packages, that product will sell for sure!

You're so funny! I'm very patient, quite the opposite of you are. I like to sit down somewhere and open the package slowly. I don't even mind leaving the gift someplace safe for a couple of days until I find the time to savor the moment. of course, i end up disappointed sometimes when the anticipation builds up!

Oh that is a great ability right there, patience! LOL, that is fantastic to see someone really enjoying to open something, but if you are a cook and try to open a package while doing for example a lasagna and needing the cheese and the thing does not open, would you stop all and sit down and enjoy the moment? LOL

When I open a package I just grab a knife andopen it.Sometimes I'm anxious to see what's inside especially if I been expecting to receive the package for a long time.Hard to open packages has never really been a problem for me.A knife or razor will usually do the trick.

Razor seems to be another good tool, but seems the scissors is winning! LOL

I have worse luck with jar lids than packages, but I understand your consternation! I used to hate to open packages of cheese. I'd end up ripping it open with a knife, but then I'd have to find a Ziploc bag or something to put it in, because if it wasn't completely covered, the cheese would dry out. Even with the stupid resealable packages, they don't always work right. But my greatest obstacle has always been the lid on a jar of pickles.

Yes I have learned some tech for that you hit the jar in the back and that helps a lot. Also you can hit the lead and that will make it easier. I do the same with the cheese packages it is a waste!

I just grab a pair of scissor right off. I have learned that it is useless to try and open it with my fingers or teeth..lol I don't mind actually. It makes me feel if that package is that hard to open then no one has tampered with it or that it may be fresher because of the seal. As for jars, I just use the rubber jar opener. I keep both scissors and jar opener in drawers under the counter so that I have easy access to both. Besides, if I yelled for my husband to help, I would probably have it opened before he made into the kitchen to help..lol

I always make sure first that I have a back up plan when opening packages, like a scissors or knife. The hardest part when opening chips is that when your hands get oily from eating the previous bag. That's why I'm happy that the tear here was invented although sometimes it doesn't work that well.

Wow, backup plan? LOL. Yes the oily hands is a big problem! Well lets keep trying to get this down, but for sure scissors are the best tool in every home!

Some cheese packages here in the Philippines are complicated to open (well, that is for me, I dunno to other Filipinos). But to other packages, its not complicated at all. I once experienced opening a package from USA. My aunt sent it. And I dont want to ripped it because if there will be defects I can send it back. In the end, my dad have to cut it just for me to get it. Good thing there are no defects at all. :)

Ive always had a hard time opening packages, be it cheese bags, yogurt cans, jams or even the water cans lid that becomes too tight and would allow water to come through the small tap unless i loosen it:(...Most of the time i end up brusising myself trying to open these lids and packages.. How i wish there was a PIN available and once you buy the stuff, u get the PIN or a key and you can just open it, the way u open your door(or access ur ATM...:)...I know dats a weird enuf thot...:D

No, it is not weird I love the idea! Yes it is true, like a key or something would help a lot, I think they do in a purpose so you waste products or something like that! LOL

This is especially true with electronic equipment. The kind that come in that undestructable plastic casing. No knives, scissors, etc can get through those things! Sometimes I need to open them for my kids and it takes a while just to get the darn thing out of that packaging. The only thing that works for me is that I have a friend who is an emergency nurse in an E.R. and he gives me those small scapels that doctors use. They are the sharpest thing I've ever encountered and cut through all those packages in a snap.

We do have difficult packaging here, don't we? Whenever I am planning on using some kind of boxed pasta or meal, I always reach for the scissors and that package at the same time. There's no way to open the crazy packages without some kind of knife or scissors.

If something is hard to open I will go for the sissors, but with most food packaging today, at least in the US, it is made to be resealable. So I take my time and try to get it open without wrecking it totally so I can reseal the package and keep what is inside fresher without having to go and get a zipper bag.
