Ok i REALLY need a new computer. My computer is so slow i cannot sign into bungie.net. it is a 501 megahertz processor gateway with 256 mb or ram. I am wondering what kind of computer i should get. money is not really an object and i like to play online games and watch movies. i also need a hard drive with 100 ore more gbs of memory so i can fill my 80 gig hard ipod and at least 20 gigs for actual computer usage. please include any sort of good software you know of.

If money isn't an object, then you should buy a top of the line gaming computer. You have VERY little memory in your current one, and a slow processor. You could probably just upgrade. These days you want at least 1 gig of RAM, preferably more. And processors today are around 2 gigs at least. But you could get a new computer with say, 2 gigs of RAM, 2 gig processor, and maybe 250 gig hard drive for around $500, $600 maybe. If you don't need a new monitor it's cheaper.

Laptops tend to cost a little more than desktops. You might be looking at more like $1000 or more, but it really depends on where you get it. For brand, I have a Compaq lap top, my desktop is also Compaq/HP (which are the same thing, HP bought out Compaq.) I'm sure other brands are just as good but I like my HP products myself.

Well, if you're keen to watch movies and stuff you should opt for a dual core computer, and around 2gb ram will do it. Actually there are hard drives available that has huge amounts of space like 320gb. They are not that hard to find. If money is not an object then you should go browse online and look for branded computers that suits you. Anyways you've written what you want already so I think you could do it by yourself. What I recommend if you like playing online games is...I don't know, a faster internet connection will do, and a better video card.
My recommended system would be a Core2 Duo 3.0ghz with 2gb ram, 512 video card and around 200gb hard drive. Good software would be an OS, probably XP or Vista, a few antivirus, and a registry cleaner. CCleaner will do, it's for free. And 1mbps internet connection, that is if money really doesn't count.

oww...wow I can't believe someone is using fiber optics on that kind of computer and wants a computer in all sorts of places. Heehee. Anyways don't buy a dell, try toshiba or sony or hp, or maybee alienware. That's a definite if you want to do stuffs, because gaming computers are top-of-the-line wares. Alienware, try that one.
