Why can't I respond to my own discussions?

Unless I'm just drunk and not looking at in right place I don't see a reply button for discussions I've started. That seams a little odd does anyone knows why that is? It would be a lot easier than replying to each message individually, especially if all you want to say is "thanks all". I can see a few other times when that would be useful, like if multiply people ask the same question then simply adding a clarifying post to the thread (to me) makes more sense than replying individually.

Because they don't want us to be able to do that. The whole point is to discuss things with people. So they want you to use the comment button to reply to people individually. Also they do not like "thanks" being left as a reply. You can explain why you are saying thank you and what you liked about their response but you should not leave drive by thank you's.

That's where a good "update discussion" comes in handy. Your headline reads "UPDATE: Thanks for you suggestions on how to do XYZ" and then use the discussion to briefly explain what the problem was and how you asked for advice and guve a detailed explanation on what you decided to do and what the result was.

I think you can ive seen other people do it before maybe you cant do it in that same day. But I have seen people reply and saying thank you for replying to me. But they could of disable it for some strange reason which I dont know why they would. But I am pretty sure you can reply to your own disscussions.
