mr_mlk To decrypt and decode video you have to buy the right to the licences. This is an extra on top of using disks.

mr_mlk Cost. To include a DVD player Nintendo would have to pay licencing fees to the DVD Forum. Likewise to include a streaming movie player various different people (as they are a lot of video formats) would want a slice. So rather than increase the cost of each...

mr_mlk To do this you will need a finger print scanner. I would ask the provider of the scanner to tell you what APIs they have. If they do not provide a Java API then look into JNI. A quick google for "java fingerprint" returned:
