what the hell does the xp after windows mean?

XP means Experience. Windows Experience, and an experience it certainly was! It is my favourite Windows Operating System.
Programmers will know that XP is also short for Extreme Programming, a methodology for the engineering of software, but has nothing to do with Windows XP.

eXPerience I believe. Wikipedia agrees with that[1].
Really it just just a way of making a point upgrade to a rather dull product that few people cares about seam new an exciting and new.
