Is Paramore bad live?

I was wondering how Paramore sounded live. I became a fan when "Misery Business" started to be played, played and overplayed on the radio. I bought Riot and enjoyed the disc (my favorite track is Born For This). I bought they're first album All We Know is Falling and was a little less impressed. There are a few catchy tunes but lyrically and musically I feel like it lacked experience and provided a benchmark for Riot's vast improvement.
When I moved into my new place with a new roommate she scoffed at my ownership of their albums saying she saw them open a show and they were awful. I enjoy their music and I'm skeptical with that comment knowing that she wasn't a fan to begin with. I haven't had an opportunity to see them live and I was hoping someone would be able to set my mind at ease. It's always disappointing to hear that a band you like is terrible live. But this instance could have been a bad performance (I was in a band for 4 years, it happens) or it could have been earlier in their career and wad due to inexperience.
Someone help me out here.

Well, this discussion was posted a week ago, but I think it deserved an answer.
I saw quite a lot videos from Paramore on Youtube and I gotta say: in the past, they were a little bad.. But nowadays, Hayley Williams and it's band are doing quite a great job.
Really, I got impressed when I saw them alive nowadays 'cause Hayley sings live EXACTLY as she does on studio, and it is quite rare to see in any band.

Paramore is awesome live!! I went to their concert a few months ago and Hayley's live belting sounds alot like her record. They are so laid back that they tend to goof up here and there, but they are so awesome!! Definately worth going to see live!! I would go again any day!

That's really good to hear. Every video I've seen showed them with a lot of energy and looking like they were really enjoying themselves on stage. My friend probably caught them early on when they were younger and less experienced so they might not have been at their best.
I love listening to Hayley, especially in acoustic versions because you can really "hear" her. She has such an amazing voice. It's also good hearing performers back up their recording studio perfectness. I know from experience how a mediocre studio performance can be turned into something that sounds amazing, and that's much more small scale than a major studio release. Overall, these posts have set my mind at ease. Thanks everyone.

Surely, Hayley is getting even better as the time passes by.. And c'mon, she's just 19 yet, she's damn good already, but I think she'll get even better!
Soon there will be a show of Paramore here in Brazil, and for sure I'll try to go to it! Seeing Paramore live is a thing that I wouldn't like to lose!

From all the clips I've seen and the comments I've read that seems like the consensus. The live bonus tracks on Riot really hit home the point too.
I think my friends either caught them on a bad night or they really didn't know what they were talking about. I'm going with the not knowing what they were talking about. ;-)

I recently saw Paramore live and was amazed. They put on an excellent show. Hayley has a beautiful voice live, and really gets into the music. I would definitely see them again, and recommend everyone else goes to see them.

They're awesome live! Actually, I first fell in love with after seeing them live 3 years ago. I originally went to a show for a different band (called Terminal), and Paramore happened to be playing with them. I came out of the show being a bigger Paramore fan than a Terminal fan!
Their energy is infectious, and they love crowd participation. They also talk to the audience a lot when they're onstage, rather than playing song after song after song with no gaps and no talking. Hayley's also very lovable bc she's so little, but she has so much energy and she's a vocal power house.
I've seen them live about 6 times, and I'm still not sick of them. And I'm going to see them AGAIN in August with No Doubt!!!
