What are your views on smoking? I necesarrily don't like smoking because it smells really bad and it destroys your taste buds and sense of smell. I don't care if other people smoke, its their choice entirely, ut I personally feel that smoking is something putrid. I hope to never smoke, but I'll have to wait to see what the future holds. What are your views on smoking? Do you thinkthat it should be banned or that it shouldn't? (Ithink it shouldn't because smokers need the smoke!)

I hate I ever started. I have been smoking since I was 14 years old. I have tried several times to quit, but it is so hard for me. I know of people who quit easily. I don't smoke around no smokers because I can't stand the smell if someone is smoking when I'm not. Yeah, I know it sounds strange, but it's true. One day I will be able to give it up. If the prices keep going up I won't have a choice. The best advice is to NEVER start because it is an addictive, expensive and stinky habit. If only I could turn back the hands of time, I would never have touched one.

Hi Blueniagra
I'm surely against of smoking. I don't like to smoke as well as i don't like someone sitting nearby to smoke. Because that person's habit will make me a passive smoker. Healthwise, passive smokers have greater vulnerability.
I know it is not possible to ban smoking. But smoking in public places can certainly be banned. Also strict punishment system should be there who are responsible to make children passive smokers.

Hello lilaclady,
Sometimes people take up smoking as they are being forced into it or due to peer-influence. How will you feel if your friends around you starts to call you chicken if you do not pick up smoking? Well, most people will not be able to withstand that kind of pressure and thus giving in. I have couple of friends who end up smoking due to this reason. That is very sad.

I do not like smoking, but if people wish to smoke then that is their right, just as long as they do not do it around me. I agree with you about the smell, it also make me feel really light headed and I am not going to start on the risks to your health, cancer for one.

I am a smoker and have been for 14 years. I have tried to quit several times it just hasn't happened for me yet.I don't like the fact that our resturants can no longer be smoked in and in theme parks, which are outside, have a limited number of places that you can smoke. But I do obey the rules of the parks and restuants.I just don't agree with them.

I am a smoker, I must admit when smoking was banned in our pubs and clubs I was a bit put out because for a smoker a drink and a smoke go hand in hand. But I actually found that it did not bother me at all and it was great not to have the smell of it on my clothes.
I actually only smoke at home, not in the house because I have kids but outside in the garden, in all weathers. I have quit before now and started again and now I am just at the point where I have cut right down, and I am already seeing the benefits by just doing that. For me they can ban it from all public places if they like, as long as I can smoke on my own property if I want too then that is enough for me.

I've never tried smoking actually but my dad used to be a chain smoker. I'm so glad he finally quit a few years ago. I think it's a great show of courage and determination. I have a lot of friends who smoke though and it's not offensive to me in any way. But I'd rather they take of their health. It would be sad to die because of lunch cancer or emphysema or other smoking-related disease. :(

I don't like smoking either and I hate people who are inconsiderate when they smoke. I mean I don't like people who actually puff the smoke right in front of your face especially too if they do it in front of children because as we all know second hand smoke is even more dangerous. If they want to smoke and be sick better do it themselves not in front of other people who don't like it.

Hello Blueniagra,
I personally believe that smoking is a very unwise way to relieve yourself or even to look cool. I have no negative opinion or view on smokers, if they do not start smoking in front of me, as the smell of the smoke emitted just make me feel so sick. Well, it should be banned, but the Government is not doing it as half of the work force will be having withdrawal symptom and it will hurt their coffer.

I've heard that once you started smoking, it is really hard to quit. But i knew a few who has succeeded. I am not a smoker and i hate the smells alot. What benefits does it bring on us? If can, i suggest that we banned smoking. Maybe we can give a little reward to those who have succeed in quiting smoking as a motivation to get them quit.

Around 1.1 billion peolple are addicted to smoking which has adverse affects on the health of smokers as well as non-smokers. A few weeks back my father-in-law had a heart problem. He used to have around 10 cigs in an hour. Although the doctors have strictly advised him to quit smoking, he did not stop. As i m suffering from asthma, it sometimes worsen my conditon in an environment of smokers. I still don't understand that what pleasure do they get from this kind of habit, which is acting like a small destructive tool on their healths. Atleast if it is not banned, it should be me made pricey, so that the smokers will have a hard time in getting one.

I smoked for over 20yrs, but thankfully stopped January 21st 1997, it was a blessing.
When smokers walk into my place I smell it on them straight away, it makes me wonder why I ever started all those years ago.....peer pressure from memory.
But thats life, and while I hope my sons never smoke, people can choose their lifestyles, no hassles from me.

I know that there is a lot of controversity about smoker's rights but i feel if they are doing something that can harm the people around them then it should be restricted. Right now my brother is dying of lung cancer due to smoking and so
I am against it more then ever

I don't like smoking at all. It's very bad for you and can give you lung cancer. I agree with you, it does in fact, smell bad, and it destroys many important things that you wouldn't know about. I care about others smoking if I know them and everything, because I don't want them to get hurt. I don't think it should be banned, because people will find one way or another to get it back.

i have been smoking since i was 16 years old. but after 11 years, i decided i want to give it up. not that i regret having tried it and then stucked with it, but at 27, a healthy lifestyle suddenly became an option. ive gained more pounds when i quit drinking 3 years ago, so im dealing with weight problems now, plus quitting my nicotine fix's also troubling me. But then i know, my better choices now will pay off in my old age.
