If you have two outstanding job offers like the following, which would you choose?Job Number 1 is a continuous no-work no pay job paying a minimum hourly rate that have no benefits. The work environment is in a warehouse or factory location.
Job Number 2 is a contract employment for 3 months which is paying above minimum monthly salary and the location is like wall street.
What would be best to choose.SFC

I'd choose whichever made me happier at that time in my life. Would I want the experience, the thrill, the ability to put it on my resume stuff of the Wall Street job? Or the warehouse, factory position? Both have their pros and cons. Me? I'd probably choose the thrill and excitement of the 3 month Wall Street job.

I think the answer to this question depends on a number of factors that are not readily apparent from your question. First, if you chose Number 2, how easy would it be for you to obtain new employment at the end of the 3 month contract period? Second, with respect to Number 1, what do you mean by "no work, no pay"? Does that mean that there is a chance that the company would not have any work for you to do during periods of your employment there so, while you would get the minimum hourly rate for the hours you actually work, there may be long periods of little or no work at all? Third, does either job have a better chance of helping you obtain a better job in the future? Sometimes it pays to start with a not-so-good job option if the job would get you valuable experience or help you make important contacts that might benefit you in the long run in your chosen career. Fourth, how much do you need the extra money from Number 2 for the three month period -- because it doesn't sound like Number 2 actually offers any benefits anyway other than the higher pay? I think you need to consider all of these points in evaluating your options. Good luck.

Hi Muelitz,
I will go for the 2nd one..I am always a risk taker about job and when you will just perform your work at your very best, for sure they will keep you and will not let you go~!

It would depend on how easily I felt I could get work after the three months, is there any chance they will extend the contract of work or is it def just the one contract task?
If you could get work within a week or two after for either another contract or full time work or even the other job then you would certainly be happier having earnt the extra money through the better job for the short period.

i prefer to have a job security and i want to have a steady income to fulfill my daily needs... i never want to be jobless as i don't like to be penniless and have no income... that's why i never like a contract job... so i think i will choose the first one which is actually my situations now... but i am happy... at least i can survive and i can enjoy many benefits from the company... take care and have a nice day...

Well, I'd go for the Job 2. Though it's only for 3 months, I can quote the experience and job in my resume; it would definitely enhance my opportunities when seeking another job!

I would go definitely with the contract employment of three months because maybe if you did well you would have it as a regular job. Times now are very hard so getting a job that means no work no pay is really not a good idea for me. Hope you get to decide which is better for you.

I would take the first job if no-work mean you don't have to do anything at all--like a security guard of warehouse, because I could bring other jobs to do on site like blogging sponsored post, which will compensate you with no-benefits.

Hi Muelitz guess if I was to be better paid Wall Street should be my choice but then I would weighs the pro's and cons up if Wall St was atravelling distance how much would it cost me to get to work so how much less will it be in my salary as to the one nearer to me that is just a walk away but less..knowing me I would go for the one nearer to me as that way travelling wouldn't get me back home late etc either your friend littleowl

Hi Muelitz,
I definatley choose the No.2 a contracted employment for 3 months, it a good and highly skilled job ans when your contract cease you can go for another highly skill job, you won't be without a job.

I would rather work in the first job. Because although it has no benifits I could always go shop for some and then I know that I for sure would be secure in that job.
