I am a 28 year old mother of 3. I have a nice body i have to say and i have my belly button peirced. I like to wear belly shirts but i have the feeling that some people look down on me because i am a mother and i shouldnt be dressing like that. I think as long as im not looking like a hooker or looking like im trying to find someone or whatever it is fine. What is your feeling on it?There is a pic of me below with a belly shirt on. Its not like im full of stretch marks or have a million rolls or anything... how do you feel on that type of stuff? acceptable or not?

I guess it depends on where you are going. I wouldn't wear that to the kid's school or anything like that, but it is fine to hang out in. If you can do it enjoy it. But there is a time and place for everything. As long as your kids are comfortable with it. What do you do to stay in shape after 3 kids? Just curious.

Every since I hit 40 I just look at a candy bar and I gain weight. When I was younger I could eat anything and still stay slim but it seemed like it gets harder with each year I age. It really sucks, I used to be in a dance company, and was a model. Middle age sucks.

I dont think it is any of our business what you were even if you did look like a hooker... Your never going to please everyone, so just worry about pleasing you. I love people who dress like their personalities and dont hide, even if they end up dressing like the mad hatter.

Honey, I'm a 50 year old mom of three and grandmother of one. If that is a picture of your tummy after three babies, you go ahead and ware your little shirts. If people are frowning at you in disapproval, it's probably because their tummies are shot through with stretch marks and flab. I see more woman running around these days with short shirts and they have what looks like an inner tube around the top of their pants, and their stomachs are so loaded with stretch marks its revolting. I got stretch marks with my first baby and that put an end to my little tops. Fortunately I stayed real little for many years, but I had enough conscientiousness to know that a marred tummy isn't attractive.

I don't wish to offend you, but I think it's embarrassing to go out dressed that way. I'd understand if Britney Spears showed off her belly ring while in concert, but if an ordinary person wears a belly baring shirt on a regular day to the mall or the the park or to the grocery that it's a bit attention-seeking don't you think? Why can't you just let your husband appreciate the belly ring for you? Although I won't necessarily look down on you, I would definitely not think of you as a good girl with what you're wearing. Nice tummy by the way, to think that you already have three kids!

Thank you for your opinion. People like britney spears is a nut so you cant compare me to her What she does doesnt effect me at all. she makes belly shirts and belly button rings look nasty. sorry but its true. I find stuff that looks decent and doesnt look embarrassing. I am one of those type of people if I dont like it.. I'm not wearing it. Im respectable when it comes to belly shirts.. if its too high i wont wear it. if its at a respectable length ill wear it to. trust me i dont go overboard. Thanks for the response tho.

I personally think that you okay in the pic, that appears that you are at home or someone's home. However I as a mother even if my body was appropiate for that type of outfit would not think that it was appropiate for anywhere else. And it would not be about what someone else thought, but about a level of comfort and appropiateness. Having said that, I wouldn't necessarily find that appropiate for a teen either. I think outfits of that nature are suitable for the beach, pool party, the gym or something of that nature. This particular type outfit would not be allowed at any school or school event, even at the college level. You definitely couldn't wear it to a job. There are some restaurants that would not allow you in with that outfit, also some nightclubs even. Kids have made the news for not being allowed to their proms for having dresses that expose the mid section in that same manner. As a parent I would feel like I was giving a double standard message if I was telling my kid that they had to dress in a certain manner to respect rules of school and places, while the very things that I didn't want them to wear, I was wearing them. Also I would like to know if you had a teen aged daughter would you be comfortable with her wearing that outfit? Or even better how would feel if your mother showed up for a lunch date with you and friends with that same outfit?

I think it all depends. Life is too short to worry about what everyone else thinks. If you like the way your body looks and want to show it off, then do it. The people who look down on you or feel uncomfortable should have no significance when deciding what you should wear. The ones that love you and accept you for who you are, are the ones that you should want around you and opinion input.

Belly shirts aren't in themselves sluttish. There is nothing wrong with it at all. Whether or not you are a mother. I've seen far worse on both mothers and those who aren't. I wouldn't worry about it at all. To me, it is all in how you carry yourself.

I think it perfectly ok for young moms to dress the way they feel most comfortable. Every human on earth was created equally, very much like the leaves on a Maple tree. Each leaf is distinctively different but all are carbon copies of the same. I think your belly button is quite attractive, and anyone who disapproves is not obligated to look at it.

Wow you look so young that you needn't worry about wearing them, just go for it - I like the fairy on your shirt. I don't feel comfortable wearing these things (but I am a bit older than you!) but I don't have anything against other people wearing them, it's great that you feel comfortble with your body etc. Maybe the people looking down on you are jealous that you can look so fab with your belly showing. I suppose it also depends where you wear it to, there's no reason not to wear them for casual occasions, but I wouldn't wear them to work.

Screw those people that look at you in disgust. I say if you got it flaunt it. i personally have full thighs and am proud of them. Now my thighs aren't flabby, but would be considered by some men thick, I love body hugging jeans and shorts. I don't think you are breaking any rules and if your spouse and you are comfortable then everyone else knows what they can go if they have a problem. But being that you're only 28 get it out of your system before you really get some age and gravity starts winning the beauty battle! LoL, have fun with fashion.

Thanks! Glad you agree with me! Not to bad for having 3 kids huh? i dont know how i did it but i did it and am proud of my body so i guess there is nothing wrong with showing it off as long as im being respectable about it and myself Thanks!

Like others have said, as long as it's appropriate then I don't see a problem with it! I bet most of them are just jealous that you have such a great figure after having kids!

I think if you have the body show it. I wish I had a cute belly to show b/c I would show it off. There are some people who should not want to show their belly but I guess they don't care that their stomach is rolling over the top of their pants.

To be quite honest, I havent seen anyone around here wear a bellytop in years. Buit if you have the body then I guess go ahead, but just keep in mind of certain situations. You're obviously going to get alot of looks if you go to the mall or the grocery store looking like this.

Alot of people are going to judge your appearance and then they are going to see how you dress your children. Are the children clean, have clothes on that are suitable, raggy or what? I work in retail and see alot of young mothers dressed like you and see their children dressed like beggers. I get the impression that alot of young mothers are more interested in their looks rather than their childrens. I see you're interested in the fact that you don't have stretch marks etc. How do your kids look?

You're a hot mama! Personally, I think it's awesome that you know you look great and are comfortable showing it off. Just because you're a mom doesn't mean you have to stop living! Now, I can see situations where it might be 'inappropriate' to wear belly shirts, but that's a personal choice. I'm with everyone else who said that people who are going to be looking down at it are most likely jealous. Go you!

If a woman has a nice body they should expose it. For sure the ones that are looking down on you are jealous or they want to do it but cannot. This should be decided by you and your husband no one else.

i guess its alright as long as your not fat or anything. if you have the right body go ahead and wea a belly shirt. if you are in your late thirties and above then i think its a little creepy to wear belly shirts. if you young and have the right body you can wear a belly shirt.
