Mom is sick again, her blood pressure is sky high but she thinks her machine isn't working right because she dropped it on the floor but she wouldn't call the ambulance. I just found out from my aunt that this has been going on since last night. I didn't know about it. She's crying on the phone about not wanting to go to the hospital out of fear they'll admit her and she's so tired of being sick and I told her that I want her alive to please go but she wouldn't so I had hubby go outside and use the cell phone to call for an ambulance, it's there at mom's now and she doesn't know who called and we're not telling her. Just found out that they're loading her up on the squad and taking her to the hospital. I swear, I think I'm about to lose both of my parents this year and close together. I'm so scared. AND, I thought I was back with mylot for sparatic moments but maybe not. As for her kidneys, there's more to tell but not right now... just know this, it's going to be one LOOOOOONG year.
For those of you who don't know the rest of the story, please look up the discussions I've started and kind of skim through them to get an idea. To give a brief explaination, mom had a very bad stroke in April and almost died three times. She was in the hospital for 2 months and then fell and broke a rib and fell again and fractured her pelvis and she has a bad kidney disease.

I hope things are better. I have been away and just seen your discussion. I hope they can find what is wrong and get it under control.

Thanks Thoroughrob but I've gotta tell ya, I've lost so much faith in doctors now a days because they don't know if she had a mini stroke or if its the affects from the last stroke. And they think she's anemic. They do know that she has a urinary tract infection so instead of going home today, she goes home tomorrow.

Your mom has been through an awful lot, but she is definitely a fighter. She seems like the type who will hang on just as long as she wants to, if that is at all possible. Some people seem to be able to do that. Hold on and be strong. You are in my thoughts and prayers. God bless you and your family.

Oh gosh is she ever a fighter. Whew!! She's a fighter alright. Been like that all of her life but yet she's as gentle as a lamb and as sweet as pie. We're trying to hang on but it's been really trying for the past 4 months but we'll never forsake her though, oh hell no! we'll never ever forsake her. In fact, I'm looking for a house now that has maybe a mother in law home on the land or something that can be fixed up to be one and hopefully we can get it so they both can live in it so I can get to them in a timely manner. Right now, dad is doing most of everything and now that mom is weak again, he's got to do everything again so I'm going to go up there for a couple of days and help clean their house so dad won't be overloaded with mom demands.
Anyway.... She's in good spirits tonight however the doctors think she's anemic, low in iron in the blood, so they're putting her on medication for that however, I don't believe for a minute that she didn't have a mini stroke because it took them a week to find the BIG one so it makes me wonder how long it would take them to find a small/tiny one. She may go home tomorrow and then she has a kidney doctor appt on Wednesday. The doctor at the hospital doesn't want her to miss the appt because it's at a special hospital 2 hours away and it's hard to get another appt so soon

Thanks. I'm trying to but it's so hard watching her fail. I wonder if it's God's way of preparing the rest of us the inevitable for that's what I really think it is. She's not old but she's not young either, only 71. It doesn't seem fair but life isn't fair but I still hope she pulls out of this and gets well. I'll be pleasantly surprised and very happy if she does.

You guys are sneaky about the ambulance, but you have to be. I hope the hospital can get her leveled off again. I know, there are years like what you are experiencing, and I can only wish you calm and peace and strength.

LOL We had to be because mom was so determined to lay down and rest it out. Now the doctors think she had a mini stroke. Not good at all so she's where she needs to be. Here she's had a major stroke in April and a possible mini stroke last night which was her and dad's 54th anniversary, it just confirms my belief, we don't think she'll be around much longer. That thought alone is pretty scary especially how she's being so loving towards me. I pray to God that I'm wrong but I really don't think so.

Yes it is very frightening. We don't think mom is here with us for much longer. She's been through hell and isn't back yet. The doctors seem to think she had a mini stroke. I'm so beside myself over this.

I am so sorry hun for all of you. Your poor mom, she has been thru so much, but then all of you have been thru it to, just in a different way. That doesn't mean its easier for you, its rough what you all have been thru. Them dark clouds need to lift and soon. You all need some sunshine in your life, all this is just way toooo much. I don't know how you guys are getting thru it, I guess you do what you have to do and just keep pluggin along. Thanks so much for the update, I have been wondering how you all are doing. Thats good thinking about hubby using the cell and calling the ambulance. I hope and pray that things improve for all of you.
