I have four loaves of banana bread in the oven right now and I so wish they were all done but they aren't. I can't wait for them to get done so I can cut one of them and put some butter on it to eat!
Does anyone else make banana bread at home? I am going to make some blueberry bread too but I have to wait until I have my loaf pans cleaned from the bananas. What we don't eat right away I will cut up and freeze from the kids and my husband to eat during the week. I have to make some peanut butter cookies for next week too.
Now I'm feeling tired LOL. At least the kids wash the dishes, all I have to do is dirty them up.

That sounds fantastic. I haven't made banana bread in quite a while, and I've never done blueberry bread (although it sounds quite yummy!).

To be honest I don't really use recipes.
I peeled the bananas, about 2 full bunches and added about 2 cups white sugar and 1 cup brown. For seasoning I used cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and vanilla. I scrambled 6 eggs added them in and then I mixed in Bisquick (I love Bisquick) until it looked right and stirred in some chopped walnuts.
Then I put it into my pans and baked it at 350 degrees until they were cooked through.
I will do the same basic thing with the blueberries but I will cook the blueberries (I used bagged frozen blueberries) first and use the sauce as a portion of the water along with the blueberries and I'll skip the walnuts.

LOL My husband is the same way with carrot cake. It is the one cake he enjoys so I make his cake and what he doesn't eat gets put in the freezer for later. He doesn't eat cake very often so it last a very long time. My oldest son now request this for his birthday too.

it sounds really good, to be honest I have never heard of anything called banana bread, is it just ordinairy bread but you slice up banana's and put it in? I am not really sure what to think of a banana bread. Maybe you could post a recipe so I can try and make it myself. It sure sounds good, I hope it will taste as good as it smells for you

Banana is a batter type of bread that used over ripe banana's that are smashed up mixed into it. I don't follow recipes to be honest but if you go to allrecipes.com or a site similar to it you can find a lot of recipes that came give you a good idea on how to make it.

You really got 4 loaves in the oven at once or are you just baking 4 loaves total? I made 2 loaves of banana bread a few weeks ago for my 8 year old son. He requested it. I also made 2 loaves of Zucchini bread last week. Peanut Butter cookies, I make every week at least once.

Yep all four at once. I wasn't sure if they would all fit but they did. We at finished off one right away once they cooled down and half of another one before the night was over with. I got one set up for my husbands work next week and the rest are for the house.

I just made some banana muffins last night. They were a late night project. I made them between 11:30 and 12:00am. I couldnt go to bed until they were out of the oven.
They are not than fantastic because I didnt have any baking soda so they didnt rise as much as they should have. I will eat them though, cause I love banana bread and or muffins.

I'm salivating just from reading your post. I'm not very good in the kitchen, but I love bread, and bananas so is it possible you can give me your recipe? Is it difficult or time-consuming? I'd like to try and make it if possible. It would be a nice change and everyone here would be surprised that I actually made something tasty! Thanks.

Yummy! I've got a bunch of old bananas that are headed the same way, and I can't wait! I don't like bananas, but banana bread is sooo tasty. I usually make a couple of loaves and freeze some for future munchings. It sounds like you're on a baking spree, and it's awesome that you've got a little kitchen 'slave labor'!

I'm not so good at baking cakes or cookies but I love to make bread! And, banana bread is so easy to make. I like to add raisin, dried cranberries, or nuts to mine. It's been a while since I've made it, but when the two boys were at home, two loaves wouldn't make it until the next day
