Hello everyone,
Today as I was having my meal at a restaurant, I overheard a group of people complaining that they have the worst occupation on earth. They are complaining about long working hours and stressful environment etc. But apparently, they seems to be quite well off - spotted a few luxury goods on them. I was like, huh!? You can that worst occupation when you can afford such stuffs?
What about you, mylotters? In your opinion, what is the worst occupation available? Or there isn't any at all ?

I'd better grab that worst occupation than having none at all. For me the degree of being or worst or best depends on the person. I can have the highest paying job but not enjoy it at all than being on the lowest paying job with a high rate of enjoyment. =)

For me the worst occupation would be one that you would not do for free. I have always had very good paying jobs, but it wasn't about the pay as my main motivation. I believe that if you love what you do the fortune will eventually come.
I worked in corporate America for many years on a management level, my goal was to leave the workforce by my 40th birthday as a birthday present to myself to start my own company. I was fortunate enough to be able to just that.
I love my job and would actually do it for free. So I wake up everyday thankful that not only do I have a job and company but I love what I do and I love the people that I get the opportunity to serve and make a difference in their lives.
My advice to others is always to find something that they love and would do for free. Work hard at it and someday the money and things will follow.

I'm not sure there is a bad occupation.
Times are bad, Their are people who really need
jobs who don't have one. I think we all will complain
about something how and then. But most of the time
we're thankful for what we have.
Don't you think.?........;-)

Well I am sure if you ask anyone on here I think that they will tell you that their job is the worst occupation ever. But, my thing is stop complaining and be glad that you have a job. Now with the economy as bad as it is there are a lot of people who do not have a job. Them people who are complaining about their job needs to eithe suck it up and be happy that they got a job or quite and see how if feels not having one at all.

I believe there's no worst occupation except those occupation that are illegal or against the law. Every occupation, as long it is legal, is a good occupation. People tend to think negative things about their job, that's why it's becoming worst for them.

hello there! well, my opinion is - there really is no worst occupation. it only becomes worst if the worker does not have any job satisfaction on the work he / she is applied for. i am a worker, an employee who loves my job and duty being a nurse (despite the dirty works of course) but what makes me upset sometimes is the workplace i work with, (more work less pay) then that makes the scenario a worst one. but not my occupation that happens to be the source of my bread and butter. . happy mylotting my friend!

I doubt that anyone can judge what is the worst job because it's all relative to the person that is doing the work. Some of the happiest people alive are those who bust their butt at work all day. If there was a worst job it would have to be the one you didn't enjoy doing. You have to be able to enjoy what your doing. What ever that may be.

in my opinion the worst occupation is a sewer cleaner in india there are many people who are assigned by government to clean the sewer (manholes) in this they enter in it without any mask and without any inbuilt ladder they have to clean all the dirty things out there so that the water can flow nicely thats a worst occupation i think so

out of the jobs I have done, I think that the worst one was working in fast food. You barely get paid for what you do and you stand on your feet for 8 hours with barely time to get the feeling back in them

Personally, the worst occupation in the world is having to do something that you don't really like or enjoy or doesn't suit your interest at all, doesn't pay well even with all your hard work and you can't even buy a decent clothing with that. And that varies depending on the person. So, I can say that the worst occupation for me is being a sewer, a dishwasher, a janitor, a street sweeper, a president of a multi-million dollar company (except if I'm retired already and doesn't have to WORK), etc. I can't be a sewer because I can't sew, I can't stand washing dishes at home how much more in a restaurant/any food chain. I don't have anything against any of the one I've mentioned (I still have a lot more) but I just don't think I'm fit for the job so it's the worst for me.

For me, the worst would be those occupations that don't pay you enough for your job done. Like working all day for about 12 hours and you get paid a salry of an 8 hour work which is really unfair and again labor code. And there are really jobs like that , that don't abide by the law.
Another for me i think would be those farmers who work all day under the heat of the sun to harvest rice so that we can rice to eat in our plates. I mean, without their hardwork we really won't have any rice to eat. But if you would look at it, those people who harvest rice and work so hard even under the beating heat of the sun are those who can't even affort to have rice for them to eat.
Its really ironic that they are the one harvesting rice but still they are the ones who are deprived of such. :(
Well, i guess the world could really be not fair for everyone. :(

What could be worst to some could be 'just a job' to earn a living to some and therefore not worse to them. Worst occupation could be that of a gravedigger, a potty cleaner, a salesman, a government employee, a manager or could even be the speech writer of the president of the united states. Lols!
We call it worse because you wouldn't like to be in their position or job, but who cares who would take the job other than them. That makes them master of their own job.
But really, what could be worse if you don't have a job?

The worst job to me would be a school janitor. I mean kids will mess up the bathrooms like it's going out of style. And then even if they get caught the janitor still has to clean it up. and if you get called into a classroom as a janitor you always know what your gonna have to do...clean up puke. And if I see puke then I'll puke. I guess the only good part about being a school janitor is the satisfaction of knowing that you make more than the teachers. I would sure rub that in if i was a janitor. any way that would be the worst job in my opinion.

"If you enjoy your work, there is no single day you feel like working!!!"
The mantra of above statement is that you will always feel great in your work if you really enjoy what you are doing in it. If you are working without any aim or the hope to achieve something from it, no work can really satisfy you. Looking for new challenges and desire to meet certain goals can motivate you in doing your work with interest.
But I must say, money is the driving factor of someone's interest to work. If that job is not producing enough income for living, certainly, that person has no interest in doing it. For me, a good job should have following characteristics:
1) reputation-it should be socially accepted.
2) promotion opportunity- the job should provide opportunity to move ahead. Doing the routine job is boring.
3) Nice salary that increases with time- Salary should be enough to keep me motivated.
4) Flexible-The job timing should not hinder my personal life.
