Everynight or day there is a fight amoungst the teenagers in my house over this computer. I dont let anyone get in the way of my mylotting, but when it comes to my teens, they are ready to knock each other out to be on the computer. How long do you allow your kids to be on the computer each day? Do you set times? Any advice would help. Thanx Mylotters!

I would give each one a 30 minute limit and they have to have chores and homework done first. I'd also let them know that if they fight they lose their turn. ~~MY OWN PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG AND BELIEVE IN YOURSELF**

You must really set a time for your kids to use the computer. Some parents I know, they let their kids use the computer only on weekends, that is when there is no class. Although computer use can be useful in children, it can also have bad effects.

It is the same with my children too. They always have a fight for my computer. I usually allow them to use computer when they have finish their homework and they are only allowed to open the sites where they can expend their knowledge. I'll let them use the computer if I don't have time to use the computer.

if they fight over the computer, just take the cord, or put in a password and not let any of them on, that's what my mom did and it was quite effective, and because there were five of us each got about an hour a day or so on the computer. They should be doing more active things unless it's not nice out. so give them some rules to go by and tell them you will take the pc away for a while if they don't abide by them, but you have to follow through with it so they know you aren't bluffing. Good luck with that, I hope I never have to worry about that for a very very long time.

my boys - ages 8 and 10 - used to fight over the computer a lot. the older one would get on it and not get off to give his younger brother a chance. i'm pretty tech-savvy and i built a simple timer program for Windows XP/Vista that lets me set time limits (like 30 min each day for each child, and 1 hour/day on the weekend), and then the software enforces the limits. the fights have stopped because each child gets a fair turn. i'm trying to sell the software but you can try it free for 30 days. try it out and let me know what you think. it's called TimesUpKidz. you can try it at: www.TimesUpKidz.com
