Today and tomorrow, I will have to mark "Best Responses" to my discussions.....

I posted about this issue before...about how difficult I find it to pick a "Best Response" to a discussion.
Many Mylotters provided excellent guidelines for me, to make this process easier.
:)
However, it is still difficult for me to choose a "Best Response" even though I know exactly which responses deserve to be a "Best Response" to a discussion.
Too often, more than one person deserves a best response.
Anyway, I will try to be a good Mylotter and award my "Best Responses" today.
I am just venting to you guys.

Hi there!
It's nice to know that you're marking best responses. Me, I have done marking my best responses for the first month of discussions I have posted here. I still have a lot for the 2nd month and everyday I try to resolve some to avoid piling up of unresolved discussions. This is my 3rd month here in mylot and discussions will keep adding up.
Marking best response does helps the user who owns the response. I believe it improves one's mylot reputation. So lets continue marking best responses.
Ciao!

Yes, I agree with you about the importance of marking best responses. :)

I guess a rating system can be implemented in this regard. The best response, good one, not-so-good one, an okay one, a total waste of intellect and time and much much more. See? I have ideas!

Exactly!
When more than one response is excellent it is very difficult to make a choice.
Going with one's gut is a very good idea.

Well, I do get your point.. well, for me I just read who’s opinion and who’s response fits into my discussion.. it’s really hard, especially when you have awarded best response, and here comes somebody whose comment you really love. Well, you cannot do anything with that anymore, but I believe it’s best if you give it around a week before awarding best response to the lucky member..

Yes, it's a good idea to wait at least a week before awarding a best response. I agree with you. :)

I know what you mean. I have picked a best response and then someone else would answer a month or so later and then they could have been the best response.
I did a few of my the other day and I am planning on doing a few more today. If I can't decide then I will wait again.
Then you also have a few discussions that one have one answer, how can you do best response when you have no one to compare the discussion with.

I know what you mean. I have postponed picking out best responses for my discussion I started, but I know that some of them really deserve it and I will get back to it soon.

Yes, it is so difficult to pick best responses, especially when more than one answer to a discussion question is truly excellent.

I don't give Best Response awards all the time. SOmetimes, there are only a few responses to choose from so I don't think it's fair for me to award a best response right away. I will mark a best response only when there are at least 7 responses already. I have learned that there are so many new discussions here on myLot so it takes time for friends and the community in general to respond to discussions I started.

Thanks for discussing the way in which you decide to award best responses.

it sure is nice if your response is picked as "Best Response".
i always feel good and happy whenever i get the "Best Response" in a certain discussion. i feel that i contributed something in the discussion. i'm thankful for those who choosed my response to be the best for them. :)

I understand.
I, too, feel good when a response of mine is chosen to be a best response. :)

well you should just read all responses and its better for you to wait little bit if it seems that discussions going to be really popular, if it seems that its not going to be too popular you dont have to wait too much to select the best response and finally dont look too much just choose the response which interests you most
