how many hours sleep do you try to get?

We all should sleep at least 6 hours to feel refreshed and able to tackle the day ahead.. i need 7 hours sleep, anymore then 8 hours sleep and i can wake up feeling more tired, as would over-sleep As we get older i think we don't need to sleep for as long.. i known people that can go a whole weekend with NO sleep, and just party. I have been all night with no sleep but feeling very tired the next day by afternoon and just kept falling asleep which is not good and bad sleeping habit. How about you? what is your sleeping habit, how many hours sleep you try to get and can you go nights without sleep?

I manage about 6 hours sleep everyday. On Sundays it is one hour more. I cannot stay awake to party. But the maximum I have stayed awake is 3 days continuously.

Slept a full day - I dont know if I have ever got a chance to do that. When anyone in the family is sick especially the ladies it is always me who stays in hospital with them the nights. And I do not take leave from office then so somehow manage with just a few hours sleep then.

wow, well i think its a case of HAVING to manage.. plenty of coffee helps as i needing now as had very restless night for some reason

i think many love to have more of lay in on a sunday, wow 3 days.. i bet u slept a full day after that haha.. thanks for sharing

I MUST have at least 6 hours a night. 7 to 8 for preference. Like you, more than that and I feel grotty. I do sometimes sneak off for a nap in the afternoons. But then I feel tired at tea time! When I was young I could party pretty hard. But these days I like to be tucked up with my Ovaltine by 11 pm (he says responding at 12.50 am!!)

haha i prefer horlicks and right now i am gradually fading at 12.12am...normally i am ok but only got 5 hours sleep yesterday because of stupid mylot

Hi dear well i am much fond of sleep and try to get atleast 6-7 hours sleep. and when i am not geting that much sleep for 7-10 days in a row that my BP start getting Rise and i do agree that if i sleep more than 8-9 hours , i wake up more tired. i can go i-2 nights without sleep but thats my limit Take care

i have never really tried to get a certain amount of sleep, but a lot of the times, if i have nothing to do, i won't set my alarm and the meds i take for sleeping knock me out so there are days i may not get up until 12:00pm to 2:00pm and usually have to go back for a small nap to get rid of the effects of the meds, lol sad eh?

i always know i normally will wake up between 6 and 7 hours later.. so i know the time i should go to bed, to be up at a particular time lol otherwise i HAVE to set alarm hehe.. id hate to be stil in bed in afternoon, well it ok if anything other then for sleeping hehe thanks for your response

i usually have a pretty good internal alarm clock, but i always set the clock just in case, lol usually with my internal alarm clock it is too early

I used to say that I am not a morning person. But I get the same way if I get too much sleep. I wake up feeling a little tired and lazy. It's weird because sometimes I can go to bed and get 4 hours and feel well rested and other times I get about 7 and feel like I'm dragging. Not really sure yet how many hours I can get a day and make that my habit. But I'm not as bad anymore about getting up for work. I wish I could be those people who can run on 4 or less hours every day. They probably get so much more done.

yea thats how i feel.. wish i could manage on only 4 hours, so much i like to do and not want to spend so long sleeping, but really i do need 6 to 7... can manage on 4 hours for couple of days but then i start to feel the lack of sleep. thanks for sharing

I try to get anywhere from 6 to 8 hours of sleep each night - it's not always possible, but I do try to strive for that. I get groggy if I get too much sleep.

My sleeping habit varies a lot During Exams, I don't sleep several times and If I sleep, I sleep for few hours only (2 to 4 hours). During Normal Days, anywhere around 6 to 8 hours. During Holidays, I sleep beyond 8 hours.

during exams you need sleep even more so but maybe its stress and worry that stops you which really dont help.. thank you for sharing and take care

i would love to get 8ish hours of sleep a night. but i'm lucky if i get 3-4 hours of sleep a night. and if the kiddies are sick i'm lucky to get 5 mins of sleep.

on that little sleep i think id suffer from much headaches and feel sick a lot.. my body's way of telling me i need more sleep but with young kids its not always possible to get the sleep we need.. thanks for your response and take care

I try to get between eight to ten hours of sleep a night no matter what though some nights I just can't sleep and be up for hours and hours on end kinda sucks when you can't sleep and feel all cranky and grumpy and want to bite someones head off.

yes, it sucks if you really do want to sleep as need be up early and cant no matter how much you try.. and thats the problem sometimes is trying to hard, that it keeps you awake.. i dont need that amount of sleep though, between 6 and 7 i can cope on well thanks for sharing

I wish I could sleep six hours straight nowadays. But my insomnia kicked in this past few days. I had difficulty sleeping. I hope my normal sleeping habit will be back to the normal ways as it is.

oh not another with insomnia.. i sorry to hear that.. i know how bad it can be as my son suffers from it as well as hay fever which dont help. And going to college with constant dark rings under eyes he hates.. Seems to have eased off, hope it does for you.. thanks for sharing and take care

Hi manykaren. I sleep as long as I like since it's summer vacation and NO SCHOOL!!! But school's going to start in a few days so I could probably sleep for about 6-8 hours. :[

I usually sleep 8 hours but nowadays 4-5 hours in weekdays. I sleep at around 1 in the morning because I love watching TV and as long as there is a show in the TV I am watching it. Thank God that we don't have cable connection. And I wake up at 5:30 in the morning to cook breakfast for my mom and 2 siblings. So I try to sleep at noon when there's nobody at home. About the nights without sleep, I haven't tried it yet. Maybe if there's some motivation like movie marathon with friends or a vacation in a faraway place that will make me so excited that I dare not sleep. But right now I haven't tried it.

I try to make up for good sleep time, but I usually fail to sleep on time due to too much work. Normally, after and also between work, I tune on to tv news and a bit of entertainment. Admittedly, I have problems with sleeping. At the most, 4 hours of sleep for me is good sleep!

I believe I need at least four if not five hours per night. I think, but I'm not sure, that it was more in the past. I usually do get this amount otherwise I'll be droopy over the next two days until I get it.

hmm... i now gone 2 days with only just over 4 hours sleep but i dont think i could do that every night, as 7 hours for me is perfect lol.. its internet fault, addictive haha.. thanks for sharing

I try to sleep for about 8-9 hours every night. Sometimes I stay up late on the computer though and will end up getting like 4-6 hours sleep and I will feel tired the entire next day. So I usually try to go to bed on time so I don't have to feel tired, but on most nights the internet just seems to addictive. Haha, tonight I probably won't go to bed until like 3:00 am.

i have been like that too much too, even more so now with mylot.. you right, it is very addictive here.. 2 nights now ive had maybe between 4 and 5 hours sleep.. and i am going to drink much coffee as i want very late night tonight too

I try to get 8 hours of sleep. More or less than that I'll get up feeling tired. If I didn't get enough sleep the day before, the next day I might just fall asleep earlier.

you know, if i dont get enough sleep, i wil feel tired earlier but by evening i become over tired and then can not sleep.. Obviously after few days it will catch up on me.. maybe due to the extra coffee to try and get me over the tiredness

I always enjoy a sleep at night.I think we should at least get six hours of sleep every day,however I wish I can get one more hour and then maybe it will be much easier to get up in the morning.Besides enough time for sleep,we should also do it regularly.
