How outsourcing will affect me.

I know that I may risk of alienating a lot of other mylotters with this discussion, and I'm sorry for that, but, my job is being outsourced, and I'm really ticked off about it. A bunch of Canadian jobs are staying with the same company, but, people in Brazil will be doing it. Fine and dandy for the people in Brazil, but, what about us Canadians, and the millions of Americans this is happening to? Thousands of jobs have already gone to India, Argentina, Brazil. So, how is this good for the economy? All the people here with no jobs, because people will do it in Asia and South America for a fraction of the money. I think it's a really sad state of affairs when all these companies are concerned with is the bottom line, with no regard to the people who are affected. The worst part is, I have to train my replacement. Sorry, I'm not too enthusiastic to you, but, you're stealing my job. It makes me really angry. SO, I'm glad all you South Americans and Indians have nice new jobs, but, it was mine, and I was doing it damn well. Now, I will be unemployed in the New Year. Thanks. How many others will this happen to before we smarten up over her in the west?

People from India or other countries are not responsible for it. Huge corporations greed is the answer. I try to buy only local produced products. I am with you. That's not fair. In the end, those countries are doing much better than we are doing here. They are draining money away from America.

Yes, it is hard to train others knowing that they are taking your job. It is not good for you on stress level. I hope things can get better for you after new year. HUGS

I know it's not the individuals fault, but, it's still hard to have a really good attitude about training them.

Big business does NOT care about the workers, all they care about is the bottom line and I have seen this happen to more and more hard working Americans. I think it's wrong and that companies that do that should be heavily taxed by our government so that this practice is less attractive to them.

I think they're going to get a rude awakening when one of these days all these workers in India will start demanding more from them, and it won't be any cheaper to do business there.

Friend, I am neither losing a job, or taking a job, but i wanted to come to your discussion and tell you how sorry I am that this is happening. I also resent when I call a local company and get an operator who has no clue as to what is going on or why I have a problem, because they are over there, where ever that is, and I am right here in the middle of America. I hope you find something even better that where you are now. Please keep us posted. Hugs to you.

I will keep you up to date, it won't be happening till January or so, but, we haven't been given a definite date. I'm trying to keep positive, you know, one door closes, another opens. We'll have to wait to see what happens. I don't think most people know that a vast majority of customer service calls they make, are to workers sitting in India, or South America. So, they are far from sympathetic to your case.

as this has been going on for years I cant figure out how to stop the companies from going where ever they go. and I for one wouldnt train someone to take my job over that just isnt right! I do think the government should step in and stop these companies from taking our jobs away and putting them in another country! MAkes me so mad. Now Hersey has done that so I wont by HErsey candys any more and they make alot of different kind will have to read on them now to see what companies make them. It is very sad what this is coming too.

I work for as an outsource agent for one of the companies in UK. I am in Asia, and it’s true that they are hiring more people here that they do in your country or in the states because we are paid less. Well, what we say about it, employees, is that we are not paid equally as our American, Canadian, or British counter parts, and it’s not fair..well, I truly understand how you feel about it, but you should not blame it to us employees. We are merely working for the company and applied for the job that they are trying to offer here. It should be the companies that needs to see to it that they outsource and make sure they wont be getting other employees out of their jobs in the country where they are from, and they should set priorities. They should prioritize hiring from your country instead of ours. So forgive us if we did something to hurt you, directly or indirectly.. we don’t really mean to do it, we are just working and earning for our families as well.

I don't fault the individual workers, I understand it's not you who makes these decisions, and you deserve a good job too.

I truly am sorry for your job loss. I see it happen all the time here in the states. To answer you question, It helps the economy because prosperous countries trade with other prosperous countries. It will benefit your country to see other countries grow economically.

The company I work for is a US company and I know they're sending thousands of their jobs offshore. I don't think it's done much good for the US economy.

I agree with you. My mother lost her job a few years ago when the company sent the jobs to China. Yeah, it helps them, but what about the people over here? We need jobs, too!

This looks like a worldwide thing from what I see. I hear the same complaints from people in Europe and in Trinidad there are huge amounts of jobs taken by foreigners. The world of work has become a worldwide stage and you go where the work for you is, I guess.

My dear friend , its not that beautiful life here in India. I am talking about India because i would like to tell the issue we are facing. But i do agree that lot of jobs were outsourced to India and to other developing countries . But when we grow here companies are shifting our job to Mexico. Even i know that in my company , who belong to Europe lost the job and now they are taking it back from us. Only thing is that the managers who were enjoying good life in Europe need to work like us what we were doing in India. Yea its part of compromises to save the job. Thats how it goes. But one thing is sure , if you technically good , then you are in demand my friend. Dont worry
