How did you spend your first pay.

Yesterday,I got my first pay in my life.I have never done a part-time job in my college time so it is really the first sum of money I earned by myself. It has been a long time since I had multifarious plans to use it,but when the day really came I have no idea how to spend it.My parent and grandmother are not here and I can not send them the gifts myself. And another reason is the money is not much so I am not as happy as imagined before.
When did you get your first pay and how did you use it?
Or,if the day has not come, have you ever think about this question?

I remember I went shopping for clothes when I first got my first real pay. I didn't really bring a lot of clothes with me when I stayed for a while in my aunt's place to look for work in a big city. Plus the company required wearing formal clothing on office hours so it was my first priority that time. This was back in August 2003.

I got my first pay cheque when I was sixteen.
Did a part time job working as a assistant in an arcade.
It was quite fun doing that job!
Spent my first pay on a mini compo which I put in my bedroom for listening pleasure!
I think the set is still around. It is with my mother now. I do not know if she has sold it away or not.

Hello rytnlxm,
I was very happy when I got my first salary. I can't remember what I did with the money but one thing for sure, I spent some for shopping and I gave it to my parents. It was a pretty big sum for me as I never had such a big amount with me before I started working.

Congratulations!
I no longer remember how I spent my first paycheck. I was an entrepreneur as a young boy. I delivered newspapers and earned a little pocket change. (I probably used it for candy or toys!)
There are all sorts of people out there who want your money, so I would advise you for wise and wary spending. If you have the opportunity, I would recommend that you acquire a copy of George S. Clason's book The Richest Man in Babylon.
Here is Clason's advice: Take one tenth (10%) of everything that you earn and set it aside. Do not touch this ten percent. Do not spend it on necessities. Pretend that it does not exist. Simply set it aside. When it has accumulated, you can use this ten percent fund as a start-up fund for a business venture or some other means to increase your income.
I think that the advice is wise and good, and for a person who can find the discipline, it is worth pursuing! (Also worth pursuing is finding a copy of Clason's book and reading it...)
Cheers! And congratulations again!

I got my first pay last summer and I put it in the bank to save for a trip to Europe :) I went on the trip over the Summer and had an amazing time! Now I'm saving my money to be able to do a study abroad program.

The first paycheck I ever got, for years I couldn't have a paycheck because the government would take away the services I need because I'm disabled, went to buy food, van tickets, and to pay for an activist trip. It went really quickly. I would try to save some for a long standing goal if you can.

When i got my first paycheck, I think I bought a cake then i was giving my dad money but he refused and said I should keep it instead.. I think I bought something nice for myself and saved some for the "rainy days". After that, I started spending and swiping my credit cards! LOL!

I remember when i got my very first payroll from my first job after college, its not a lot of money but i brought a pizza and took it home for my parent and sibling. I was so very happy at that time because its my first payroll. And the first think that came to my mind is to treat my family.

I had a paper round from the age of 13 and I only got £8, so I probably spent it on a top or something unmemorable. My next first wage was £80 from my next job and I think I spent this on things for college. My next first wage was £300 and I saved most of it for University and the rest is going towards a travel pass.

Well I have had 4, the three I mentioned and a babysitting job. I like money, so that is why I decided to work from a young age. I have gone years not working though as I was unable to find a job.

I've not spend mine. It is still kept at moneybookers account of mine and am planning to withdraw when I reach around a hundred dollars to save on service charges. But certainly I'm going to spend the whole amount in a very significant gift for myself or for my loved ones.

I remember spending it to buy more business type clothes. I also spent some of it to treat my family to pizza. Also I used some of it for my insurance and luckily it was a good investment. I spent some of it too buying some magic props for my magic of course.

The day hasn't arrived yet for me. But when I receive my first paycheck, I would really like to save it for the future. It could come in handy during Christmas.

it's interesting.
I got my first pay at about 22, 3 years ago.
The same with you,I really don't know what should I do to celebrating that.and of course,it's not very much, but i'm so happy coz it's my first pay.I work hard for that even though it's not as much as you think. Finally,I spent it to have a drink with my friends who always support me and love me.And also,i buy a little gift to my mother and some families who always love me and help me.
Thanks.

I was working at Mac Donald's making 9.10 an hour third shift, this is when Mac Donald's first opened for 24 hours. I got paid every two weeks and then when my first pay check came I was so excited, I opened a bank account, put like 100 in there, then I got cable TV and Internet right away, I love doing things on the internet, so when I got off work or before work I could go do things on it like design graphics, chat to friends etc. With the rest of the money i payed 100 dollars in rent to my room mates and then sent the rest into the bank with the other money and saved up for a brand new computer, it was the best when I got it, after like two pay checks I was able to get it.
