I will not ask you if we do,but i will tell that we do complain too much than appreciate whatsoever we posses,we do not have a car we complain then we get one and we complain,we have beds, shoes, food, little money we complain but had it ever accure to us that people out there do not have 0000000.00000001% of what we have! WE COMPLAIN TOO MUCH THAN TO APPRECIATE WHAT WE HAVE!!!! I feel like slapping some sense into heads(including me)right now. i was looking at some pictures of people who sleep on the ground and appreciates it,who plays with human skulls while i have game at my house that i do not appreciate, people starving while i pick, choose and refuse food, people naked while i create tantrums about what to wear and whats out of style,i get angry when my mom gets into my business, while some people do not have parents.
I AM SO UNGRATEFUL AND I NEED TO STOP IT AND YOU TOO WHAT DO YOU SAY? ABOUT THAT.
I came up with this topic because of some pics i got in my mail, and by viewing them i realize I'm ungrateful, and i started to cry. I really do not know who to apologize to.

I think most people tend ot take the good things in their life for granted. I think it is human natue to kind of want what you cant have and show a lack of appreciation for things that they do. Sometimes you have to make a concscious effort to smell the roses. It is a good thing to do.

your right, but unfortunately it is in our nature to complain. We should be grateful for what we have and not complain about what we don't have, especially when there are children that go days without eating, people who sleep in the cold because they have no homes etc.
When i was in my Police Foundations, we did a volunteer fund raiser for the homeless, it was during the winters, and here in northern ontario, canada, the winter is pretty friggin cold. We went out for the night with boxes and a blanket and spent the night out in the cold with the only warmth or shelter being the boxes we had and the blanket we brought. None of us could really spend the night the way a homeless person does, we all ended up putting boxes together with a friend as the snow fell, and sleeping anywhere from 2 to 4 of us in a box because we were so cold. It was an experience i will never forget.

yes i definately know what you mean, unfortunately we never really think about just how bad others have it, not saying never, but just not that often, we have what we have, and we want what we don't have.

yeah we are very lucky to have anything that others dont have even a pair of shoes or slippers sort of.. and im too are sometimes forget about those people and always thinking of myself and what to buy next..maybe to relieve on this feeling we need to take some actions..that is to share a little on what we had to those less unfortunate people..its one way of helping others,,giving donations to charitable institution..well i for one had given that is when i shop near the cashier is a little box for coins for us to dropped what ever we had...and intended for some charitable organizations..

I definitely agree with you. I have read that email too. Where the kids studies using the earth as their papers and stones as their pens and we complain about the education that we are getting. That we don’t get the better brand of shoes while other have only 1 brand, and it’s that picture you have posted. All children in Africa, or for most of them are wearing slippers made from plastic bottles. Sometimes we get unhappy because we don’t like the food that was served to us, and they have nothing to eat. After I have read that email, I felt so sad and down and it made me reflect on myself. i felt ashamed for myself on how selfish and dissatisfied I was with life. How I whine about nonsense while other are worst situation. I certainly agree with you, we should learn more on how to be thankful and appreciate what we have instead of complaining about it.

yes, i did see that too. some kids are not satisfied with the toys that they get while those in africa are playing with skulls!! and some kids are not happy because they were not given enough care and attention, but the kids in africa are carried by their siblings on their back, their parents are maybe busy with looking for their food or something.. they're not in the picture..i certainly understand how you feel, that's how i feel while reading that email too!!

Well I am pretty grateful in my life I believe, there have been times where I was not so grateful, but for most of life my family has been poorer than most in my society, but we live well in my opinion and I am very grateful for what we have, I am sure many people would wish to participate online, but many do not have computers or any of the luxuries that I have in my life. I wrote on my desk the other day to encourage myself to be grateful, "Shapeshift (change), understand, VALUE, Live!", because I felt that I was complaining too much about the smallest insignificant things, but I plan to follow those four words to my best of my ability.

I agree people do have a tendency to complain a lot, those that have want more, I can't point a finger at no one because I am guilty of it myself, I complain about my job, but I thank God for the job, because where I live there are a lot of people out of jobs, industries are closing everyday, unemployment is rising, you can't even get into the employee offices for people looking for jobs.

now that you mentioned it i realized that I'm so ungrateful for that and so many people wants to work where i work, where i work is so popular in my town, and now that i get the opportunity i keep complaining. thanks Chevee for the wake up call.

This is a great topic and I thank you for starting it. I know how you feel about people being ungrateful and not being satisfied with what they have. I think sometimes it may not be that they are not satisfied with what they have as much as not being happy with themselves, I belive they project these feelings to what is around them and what they have. So instead of saying "I hate all my clothes in my closet" they may really be saying "I hate how I look in all these clothes". I think we have all been ungrateful at one time or another but once you find some inner peace you start to open your eyes and realize how lucky you truly are and that is when you start praising the day and every breath you take. I am very proud of you for your self awareness and realizing that you need to change. Keep it up and I think you will become happier from within and it will project outward. No need to apologize just move forward and be grateful for all the things in your life, especially the people :)

I agree I think we complain too much, we are never happy with what we have, we want more while some in this world have nothing. I see these shows and tv where they have nothing to eat but the rice or what ever they are giving them in the bowls they are eating with their fingers, and think about how much we throw in the garbage. Some only have a small piece of cloth covering their bottoms, while Ihave a closet full of clothes. How many pairs of shoes do I have? Who knows, but there was a nice looking pair I seen at the store, and we do have beds where some sleep on the ground.
We are a nation of complainers, give me more, give me more. We are the luckest people in the world to be born in a country that we can have 20 pairs of shoes if that is what we choose. Maybe we should step back and look at what we have and how much of it we could donate to people who have nothing.

Hello Jojuana and welcome to mylot.
You do not owe an apology to anyone, you are just realizing what you have to be grateful for. So just appreciate what you have and be kind to others. Plus, no one is perfect. In ten years you may say the same things to yourself basing it on a totally different topic. That is the beauty of life.
You know I owe everyone loads of money, I barely make ends meet, I work un-Godly amount of hours, but I still want to achieve happiness not ony for myself, but others. It is normal to get bunked down. But if you are always trying to build on something that is not a solid foundation it will always crumble...(our complaints of "life isn't fair!!!"
Appreciate this little fact, you've come to realization that not many do. And if they do not many follow through with. Use this as your starting point. And remember to smile. That's priceless.
Have a great day.

We complain too much than to appreciate what we have!!!That's really bad.But that's human beings,we always do that even though we know it's bad thing. You don't need to apologize to anybody, you just need to change yourself and improve your manner. Then you'll feel you are better than before. It doesn't matter,no one is totally perfect,we all have some weak points, the most important thing is that we know we are not perfect, and do our best to improve ourselves.

I had a heart attack a few years ago and it made me appreciate the good things in life a lot more. When you nearly lose your life you look at things a lot differently. So live with what you have got and enjoy it. You might not be here tomorrow.

Whenever I feel that life is unfair I just remember this quote. "I am complaining that I have no shoes until I saw a man wihtout feet."We all know that life is unfair but it can still be good if we are positive and that if we help our fellow.
