I love cucumbers but I have never heard of such a thing! If I saw it in a store I would probably think it was some type of squash. Cucumbers grown in someone's garden taste so much better than the ones you buy at the supermarket don't they?

oh yes, they do. i will buy cucumbers in the winter at the store but there is no comparison to the fresh ones you get out of the garden. these were so neat i'm like u if i 'd seen them in a store i wouldn't have known they were a cucumber.

I have never seen one on these.. They sound odd and unusual.. I grew a few one year and thought, "Oh my goodness, look how big these cucumbers have grown", until I tried to eat a few of them.. They were tough and really not edible, so I have learned to pick them while they are still quite a bit smaller.. I guess that is why they don't call me Farmer Donna..

Lemon cucumber? That is really new to me. I wish you have taken a photo and posted it here! I love cucumber. It is my main ingredient in my salad along with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pineapples, carrots, turnips with mayo dressing. I wish I could find lemon cucumbers in our market too.

My son had a plant like this last year. It only had two cucumbers the size of a large lemon, but it tasted like a regular cucumber. I had never seen one like that before. I guess the growers constantly come up with new varieties. Neat!!

Hi ANTIQUELADY, it’s really funny to know that your friend had planted such new and lovely variety of lemon cucumber. Though I haven’t seen such unique cucumber before, I believe it might look as cute as a lemon. The plants with plenty of lemon cucumber growing on them must look fascinated and attractive How nice to plant them in the flower pots and to decorate our porch and to make our house to look more lively.
posting and take care.

Last year my sister planted cucumbers and she got all these little yellow things and thought that her cucumbers were bad! I looked into it and found out they were called lemon cucumbers, but neither one of us knew that at first, and so she tossed out the first bunch she picked!
Yes, they are quite yummy, I have a friend who plants these exclusively, and I very much like them :)
LOL, now I think I am going to walk down to the farmer's market and buy some cucumbers and make me a salad!
Great Post!
