Good to be Twelve

Frequently on here I refer to the fact that I am a twelve year old locked in the body of a fifty year old. As it is my avowed intent to grow old disgracefully, twelve seems a good age to stick out. Not yet old enough to be responsible, still needs reassurance and cuddles. Learning how to be tolerated by older siblings. My sisters especially on here try to boss me around - with some success. Can be naughty and just about get away with it. Forever summer. So what is you ideal fantasy age and why?

Hi p1kef1sh,
You must have been quite fuuny when you were twelve because you are still very funny now and you make me laugh so much especialy when I'm down in the dumps, oh I like to be age ten when I used to be a tom boy and loves climbing trees and always getting stuck on the branch when I try to climb down, and mum used go hell for leather for and I used to run away from her. I wa always up to no good but at the end of the day I always get a lot of cuddles from mum, even befor my mum passed away six years ago I was always been cuddled bu mum.

For me it is a 16 year old locked up in a 34 year old body. And sometimes I wake up and wonder how I got so old so fast when it doesn't even seem like it has been that long. I do let my inner child out to play occasionally..My ideal fantasy age would be 16. Old enough to have fun but still to young to get into trouble for most things.

Hi P1kef1sh, I am five year old, even younger than you in an older body. The reason I am this age is because a child delights in the most simplest of things and also doesn't have the responsibilty of anything at all, everyday is a new adventure and anything from the previous day forgotten, accepting, adjusting, innocent, carefree full of loving and laughter with no preconcieved ideas of how things should or shouldn't be. Bit like me now really except the responsibilty bit and the sensible head at times. LOL. Ellie :D

I have wracked my brains ..and I dont think I have one lol..as you know Pike im a realist here, there is no way that I can live in any fantasy land, boring though it may be ,its me through and through..I cant put my self in situations either, when someone says `What would you do if..`..well `if` hasnt happened so im not qualified to answer lol,Mr Ruby is the fantasist, the Peter pan.so maybe this is more a male thing. They do say that men have a far harder time growing up than women do,and I think they may have it right. But I agree with you that the time in your life with the no responsibilities bit,the feeling loved and wanted by your parents etc,is a good part of life for many.

They do Piky im sure, its not a bad thing, its a form of escapism. If the going gets tough lets think about the Lottery lol.Im sure that on the whole the female is the more practical one,the one who has to face things head on regardless, and im not being melodramatic when I say that but thats how I have found it to work.Escapism is lovely for a while though, and it does us good.In your experience who is the stronger in most relationships?

When I was in 6 years old, I play and play all day!=)
I also enjoy studying and playing with my classmates.
I love coloring books. I'm a perfectionist when it comes to coloring. I made sure that I use the right color on the pictures and there'll be no mistakes.

I don't know why I'm answering this you already know. 12 is the best age to stop at for the very reasons you mentioned.

Teenage years is the most enjoyable part of one's person. I can say that you didn't enjoy that much of your early marriage. There are things that you haven't done and would like to do but your situation is stopping you from pursuing it.

I've always held out for 5. The summer of my 5th year was probably the best. I was old enough to play in the back yard or down the street with my friend, but young enough to totally taken care of.
I was tall enough to see over the dresser to brush my own hair and get a glass of water, but too young to be expected to help too much around the house. And, I wasn't in school yet.

I also started at 5, which is why I picked the summer before that. But I wanted to go to school, I wanted to learn to read and write. School didn't become a chore until I had a teacher who didn't like me in 4th grade. And she didn't like me because she had my brother the year before.

Good grief an ideal age - I don't know if I have one! lol Probably about 17 if I really had to choose just because I was so fir and had so much energy, was independant with no real responsibilities but you know what? I wouldn't want to be any age other really than where i am now, I have my other half , my kids, my family and friends and they are the most fantastic bunch anyone could hope for! As for you - I think all of we women would boss you about no matter what mental age you were! lol Hugs , or should that be smacks? xxx

We sold our house and went off in our motorhome. Our daughter said we were acting like irresponsible teenagers. I said that was good. So I am a teenager and throughly enjoying it. I am in my second childhood. I am 59 and am acting about 13. Its great. Yes we must definately grow old disgracefully. Do not ever grow up.

Good for you. Your daughter will learn. In the meantime embarrass her by doing such reckless things. When my mother retired she went off round the world on hr own, meeting up with my dad every often in some exotic place. Now she is 84 and the youngest member of a keep fit club that does displays at schools. You've not lived until you have asked a 90 year old if you can sit down because you can't keep up with her and you're 14! LOL. More power to you,

Hi p1,
hmmm...I guess I would love to be always 16, the time where I always hang out with friends who are all single like me, then, active in all organizations, social or civic, then spend time with family and just a happy go lucky girl but hard working too!

12 for you seems to work. 12 for me was filled with coming home from school, taking care of the animals, helping my great grandmother cook dinner, making sure her pills were all in order, and a dozen other daily chores before I did my homework and went to bed.
So my ideal age would have to be 22. I was old enough to do anything I wanted to do. I looked better that year, before getting pregnant, than I ever have in my life. Had a great job, making terrific money, that allowed me the freedom to do anything I wanted to do. I was also old enough to know the consequences of my actions by that time. Being female I am allowed cuddles whenever the mood strikes me so age has nothing to do with that. I could never go back to an age where I would have to attend school and follow parental rules. To me that is a nightmare. lol
But being 22 while you are 12 I am old enough to babysit you ;)

Hmmm. I don't think there's any age (kid age) that I would want to be again. Definitely not forever. Each one was okay when it happened, but I always like the next stage equally or more.
As a grown woman, though, I think I would like to stay in the 35-40 age range. That was when I realized that I had made my mark in the business world and didn't have to worry about whether or not I did more. It was when I realized that a few wrinkles meant I had life experiences that others didn't have. It was it realized that it was okay if I had a tiny pooch of a tummy. And when I realized that I could mentor younger women and didn't have to worry about whether or not everyone in the world agreed with me on anything.
That was when I adopted the motto, "Grow old along with me. The best is yet to be!!!"

There's an old woman in my town who was in her 60s. She jumps around and do jump rope. We ask her why she is so active even in old age. She said that age is just a number. She said her heart tells her she is still a teenager. I love being young - we can explore lots of things, go to places because we have the strength. When i was younger, way younger, i thought when i turn 18 i will have automatically sexy legs and body and my mind will think differently but i am now 26 and i still have the same unsexy legs and my mind still function like i was in my teens but this time life has taught me lots of lessons and i am a lot wiser but basically I am still a teenager :) I want to remain 15 or 16 forever :)

I am forever 24. I don't know what with age but I am stuck with it. I am now 26 but when people ask for my age I usually answer 24. It's not that I want to pretend younger but I can't help myself. Maybe because my son was born on the 24th. But now I am trying my best to control myself from blurting 24 whenever some one asked for my age. If not for that, my favorite age is 17.
