intregration of special ed students into regular ed classes?

i work with special ed high school students who we try to place in regular ed classes. mostly electives. anyone with a comment on it.

I think it's a great idea. It's good for the special ed students to mix in and feel they're a part of the "regular" kids. And the other kids can get an idea of what those kids are like, take away the mystery of them, and see that they're normal as well.

you hit the nail on the head with the mystery.
our town is only about 7000+, but we have outer laying areas that come to our schools. it's about average size schooling, but the number of students who receive special services is high. that goes from my type of room to kids with learning disabilities to the highest functioning student. regular ed kids have been with the special ed kids since kindergarten. they know them and accept them. if not. that's why i'm there!!!

I think it's a good idea. I mean that way the kids don't feel like they are being left out or that they are any different that the other students.
