So I had a calcium deficiency and all my teeth started chipping off and breaking away from my gums. I am at the point where all my teeth need to be pulled and dentures made. I like to have swallowed what few teeth I have when I got a price quote on what I needed done. It has got to the point where my teeth hurt day in and day out. I take so much tylenol etc my purse looks like a pharmacy. But yet all dentists say I don't care how much pain your in. I don't care if your teeth are constantly getting infected and risking your health. Give me the money. well i'm sorry if I can't pull $4,000 out of my behind. Its crazy! I haven't found a dentist yet that is willing to work with me!

That is why I also have been suffering with a toothache as I can't afford to go to the dentist at the moment and give them the money that they seem to want for the work that they do. It is insane the price that they want to charge people.

I just had an oral surgeon consult while seated on a table with a floor lamp & no dental instruments not even a mirror. The oral surgeon spoke of a "proper" reconstruction & implants. I replied that was why I had a prosthodontist...A specialist in the placement of teeth harmonious with the jaw & muscles. He became flustered & said he never received A "treatment plan" from my prosthodontist nor the numbers of the teeth to extracted. He charged me three times the consult fee. I wrote a check for the quoted consult fee & I received a letter stating that fee was just the "starting" consult fee. I think the consultation should have been cancelled & rescheduled until this oral surgeon found himself fully informed & prepared of my case. I have no desire to return to such an unprofessional oral surgeon. When is it legal & appropriate for an oral surgeon to conduct an oral exam on a patient while asked to be seated on a table with a floor lamp with no dental instruments not even a mirror?

Carolscash, Yes, some of the prices they charge are quite crazy. That is why discount dental plans are having a field day. Maybe with 40-80% savings, the prices could be doable? Anyways, I saved $800 on just one tooth, through a plan I found on dentalcool.blogspot.com

I'm sorry to hear that. I had problems with my teeth too. They had to be removed surgically (some of them) and some dentists are asking for a lot of money. Luckily I found one, and the price was not even half of what other dentists quoted. Just keep searching, you'll find good dentists too without the high price tags.

Hi mmarcia, Sorry about all your dental problems I know how painful they can be. I think you should check around any colleges with dental programs in your area. They will often times do the work at no or reduced cost. You dont have to be poor, they will take anyone. They do good work. You could also check with the health department, they may be able to steer you in the right direction. I need to get adeep cleaning myself which fortunatley isnt too bad.

Aren't there any dental clinics or dental schools in your area? I live in New Jersey, and if you do not have the money, you can go to a dental clinic and they will charge you according your income. Hope you get help soon.
